you are right, many years ago i built a small glider(36") pulled the bungee tight and shot the fuselage like an arrow leaving the wings at my feet ! thanks for your great video ! JJ

Hi Nick, I kind find the old bloke with the hat entertaining. I’ve recently found your channel and watched some of your glider builds. Very nicely explained and quite informative. Thanks for sharing your building skills and the reviews of kits. I want to build a few before i retire in the hopes that I can get out of flat Texas. I have to learn to fly the fields and tree lines. I miss the coast of California.

Nick, In my early days using bungee launches, about 35 years ago, the latex tube was always seen as a smoother ride than the normal elastic based bungee. I was flying a full sized Gentle lady back then and definitely the latex tube was smoother. The different diameter tubes were used for different gliders of different weights. What are the dimensions of the tube you are using?
@NickChittyFlying5 ай бұрын
Fully agree it used to be surgical tubing this is tinny compared it’s 6 mm exercise rubber tube
@jcork34605 ай бұрын
Ok and do you find it smoother than the elastic or equivalent

Nice hight! I have started experementing with towing up with an RC car. First launches have gone very well, currently looking for a large enough field to get it way up.

As another “old bloke”, and a Yank as well, I found your video to be very informative. Well done lad. However, I have been unable to hear the name of your excellent model. Would you mind posting it for a half deaf old fellow and also where I might obtain one for myself? It’s off to Amazon now to order some of that green bungee cord.

50 m is a Helluvalof a lot of line ...attached to that tubing.. More than I use on My Highstart w 3/8 tubings ... for launching 2m.. 1lb Thermal gliders. That said an electric motors makes a bungee redundant.
