Her vocals are so powerful. She almost reminds me of a female Dio in the sense that she really belts out her notes and puts a lot of umph behind it

IIRC, Leather is one of the few singers that Dio mentored.

I remember my cousin and I staying up and waiting for the debut of this video on MTV. We are both fans of Chastain who is the guitar player. He was in a band called Spike and then CJSS before going out on his own. They used to play at Bogart‘s a lot in the 80s in Cincinnati and we were always there to see him. I took a couple guitar lessons of a Chastain he was a good teacher. Now he owns his own record company/label Leviathan records.

I always had my own style to play guitar and write songs. When i start to listen on Chastain 1985-86 with Ruler Of The Wasteland, i was hooked. I learn almost all songs on my twanger and started to make a new side of me in my songs. And that thanx to David T. Chastain :) I was very quick on the board and people was calling me a Super Guitarrist. Well .... i had some offers to join some big bands, but i didn't. I had my own songs i believed in and people liked. Compare with this .... if you are a biker and have your club ..... you don't jump around through the clubs. I stayed with my band and name, i stayed in the same club, but not a biker club. We was horryfing car people called 'Raggare' .... but we was together with bikers :) Raggare like Elvis and music like that. We didn't. We was and still love metal. Chastain is one of my favorite bands, but mostly 1984-1990

Their song endlessly on mystery of illusion could have been a number 1 hit. Only problem , radio didn't give it it's just deserves. This band is hands down the best

Amongst my favorite band without a doubt, the Leather Leone era, Chastain was in a band called Zanister, the second album Fear no man , is also outstanding though a bit different

The female singer is Leather Leone. she is the best female metal singer. You should check her solo albums and songs with David Chastain. She is a monster as Ronnie James Dio.

Great band and unusually for the day fronted by a female metal vocalist. Leather could quite easily hold her own with any of the male vocalists doing the rounds at the time.

Chastain has released around 50 albums under different names. Quite productive. Like his band CJSS which stands for Chastain, Jinkins, Skimmerhorn and Sharp

I liked it. Hard driving with very good vocals. Musicians were great with great stage presence. Never heard of this band. I’ll give them a thumbs up. 👍😎

Pretty good! I had this CD when it came out in 1990. David Chastain is the guitar player. The lead singer, "Leather" is really good looking back then, I noticed the left side of her hair was died white so left hand path I guess? I know they lean to the left politically based on the lyrics on this album but not this song too much.

I like Chastain for the time they had a good sound attitude and straight up talent. I did not learn of them however till the release of King diamonds album House of god. To that significance Kings album featured the bassist David harbour and Drummer John luke herbert whom are featured here if not mistaken. In discovering where they came from I discovered Chastain and I like a good portion of their material I'm glad others do as well \m/

What you never heard of Chastain . Where have you been for the past almost 40 years I had almost all of his Lps and most that I had were sealed original copies .those copies are now worth quite a bit of money .

I don’t really have much to say. It was OK, but as you said, totally forgettable. Musically, the players are great. Vocals....well just so-so for me. I do realize it was a very hard time for female metal vocalists. When you get past Lita Ford, the gals in Vixen, Joan Jett, and was her name Doro? I guess I really don’t remember too many others. And just for me, I don’t think I’ll remember Leather much past today. Overall, not great but also not horrible.
