A friend of mine, who was a bicycle racer, credits his helmet with saving his life while he was just riding around town and was run into by a right turning car. His helmet was trashed but his head was OK. You are less visible on a recumbent bike and you have less visibility. I got rid of my road bike and have been using a beach cruiser to decades.

I like the video with the bike it’s nice to see your gonna be doing more videos. I know you were in the hospital like a month ago so it’s good to do something to get you back out there. & my 16-year-old cat passed away from cancer of the lip The vet said that he wouldn’t make it through the year in dec 18, but he made it until.JAN 8 and we have been trying to take care of them since September so I’m just happy we got this much and I would like to see more of these videos if they do well for you 😊

"I'm unique" No truer words ever uttered. Looks comfortable, Clark. Not an uncommon sight in my neighborhood, although I do live next to the Greenway Trail in NE Ohio.. I can ride all the way to my sailboat on Lake Erie, which is GREAT! Glad you are out & about now. Be well.

So interesting! I wonder, how do these bikes handle going over bumps? On my normal bike I'm always having to lift myself off the seat for bumps, to avoid the impact. Obviously couldn't do that on a recumbant bike.

This one has rear suspension so it is rather comfortable. Even if it didn't it would be more comfortable than a normal bike seat due to the large padded surface

Another thought. This is certainly not an off road bike. So pothole, no problem, but it would not be a good trail bike

I have a road bike, a recumbent, and a folding bike for the boat. I have a couple of problems with the recumbent. First, I have to resist the urge to stand up like I would on the road bike. Even though I know I shouldn't, I still have the urge. Second, I can't easily look behind me like I can on a road bike, to check traffic before making a turn. How do you keep an eye on traffic on the recumbent? I am up north right now, and the high temperatures are below freezing, so I setup my wind trainer today. I used to ride in the winter, but I don't handle the cold as well as I used to.

I've only been hit by a car on a bike once, that was a standard road bike that's vertical & visible. Only broke a helmet once, over the handlebars. Considered a bent, never made the plunge cuz of the cumbersome storage & handling, but foldable might fix that. What brand & model are U riding?

... i find that the visibilty crticism is without basis, basedon theory rather than experience. i've ridden low riders on busy roads and the reaction from car drivers is WTF is that guy riding, I get more attention than if I was riding a conventional diamond frame bike.

Try breathing through your nose with your mouth closed when you aren't talking. That way we (evidently) do a much better job of oxygenating our blood.
