This KZbin interview is extremely valuable...but not for the reasons probably believed by the discussants. “Helping traditional instructors come into the 21st century” takes more than efficient branding. It means understanding the different reasons people practice and the challenge of proving that any particular type of instruction serves Student A better. Is it a given...is it obvious...that traditional, fundamentals-based instruction is superior? This seems quite plausible. Unfortunately, modern approaches to "knowing" (i.e. science) demand that things that sound plausible must still be shown to be true: by asking the right questions, conducting rigorous studies, and determining whether the results are generalizable. Plausibility starts the process; probability (predictive power) is the end. The outlook is bright but there is a lot of work to be done. Maybe the always quixotic search for authenticity is a distraction.
