I think what attracts buyers to buy from resellers is the personal shopping experience. You aren't treated like someone in a lineup you receive an item that has been carefully cared for even rescued - it's like an item from sister to sister...loved the coffee chat/ work with me 🙂

Love your video's. I don't have small kiddos like you but I do have a 13 yr that I have to get up for school. I wake up at 4:30am and at the gym by 5am : ) It's still dark but it's a great way to start my day. I've been doing it for at least 15 yrs now.

I can’t do the morning workout… i am in the office three days a week but the other two days I work from home and work out for 30 min mid-day. Better than nothing in this busy phase of life!

I am a reseller mom of a 3 year old. I start work at 5am so I can get two hours in before my daughter wakes up at 7. I then am able to get my 3 miles for the day in later on. Usually afternoon and still get all my work done. I workout outside mostly so this way has made it easier to get outside when it’s daylight and not dark! :)

I'm glad that they are rolling back the fee change. Sad, because I was making a little bit more money on higher priced items, but glad that we don't have to figure it out anymore with "how the new fee change works". With motherhood, trying to navigate the business aspect at every new stage it an adventure, and every new stage is fun. I started reselling to be home with my son more, and as they both grow, there are changes to be had (for the better).

I think the way Poshmark has handled the fee change and the quick switch back has been so unprofessional. My bookkeeping is a mess this month. Looking forward to your thoughts on that in the future.

I really enjoy your chat & work videos. I'm interested to hear what you think about Poshmark reverting their fees back. I'm also really interested to hear the motherhood episode of your podcast! I have a 2 year old daughter too, and reselling + working + momming can be a lot lol. Thrifting with a 2 year old is...an adventure hahaha

Thanks! I am easily distracted so I think 2 minutes to photograph an item is great lol. My PM space is 1/2 of my small bedroom and a corner of my living room lol

I have two kids (5 yr old, 1 year old) and I work out at an all women’s gym at around 9am every day. My baby is home with me so he goes to the gym day care (it’s small, and I love the lady that runs it) and it’s a nice 30 mins to recenter! Then I officially “start my day”. (Part time reseller, I’ve had a podcast for 4 years, and I own a construction company with my husband so a lot of similarities)

I almost bought that Maeve dress to resell, but my payout wasn't as big as I hoping so I picked up a couple other things (including Magnolia Pearl) and put that dress back. I'm glad you found it!

My kids love going to goodwill with me. It’s pretty much the only store I take them to. When they play “store,” at checkout they ask “would you like to round up to support our career services?” I wake up at 4am to run. My kids are 7, 4, and 3. I started this year. It’s pretty much the only time I have completely to myself and that is motivation enough for me in this stage of life. I couldn’t have forced myself to do it while I was still waking up through the night with little ones.

In order to be a top rated seller on eBay you have to offer free returns. I usually only have 1-2 returns every month and being top rated means your selling fee is lower. Also, when I made the switch to focusing on eBay, my biggest mindset was selling things even if I didn’t think it was “cute” this changed everything! I sell everything based off of STR and it’s been working out for me. I made this change because poshmark has been letting me down this past year.

You don't have to offer free returns to be a top rated seller. Giving free returns gets you Top Rated Seller Plus status.

My biggest frustration with the fee change was that unlike the other platforms Poshmark wasnt even shifting fees to the buyers they legitimately just doubled their fees. For example on a $20 as a seller I make $16.21. that $0.21 cents is negligible. I'm not going to Lower my prices on posh for that $0.21. Then posh was also getting $3.79 EXTRA from the buyer. So they made $3.79 on me, $3.79 on the buyer, and they made money on their inflated shipping and they made money on their guarantee fee and then lastly they also made money on any money I don't cash out instantly. That's absolutely insane and slimy.

I understand not giving discounted shipping on bundles because they are heavier and cost more. I don’t get the no discount with offers. Probably doing this to get more full price sells so they can make more

The changes on Poshmark have made me nervous too and I've never sold on ebay so I've been trying to get into a rhythm of listing on there but I cannot get a routine down. Can you make a video showing your crosslisting process from Poshmark to ebay including what program you use? That would be so helpful, i feel so overwhelmed!

I would LOVE to hear your ideas on the future of reselling! Also on you new business model as I’ve been giving that a lot of consideration myself lately. I left Poshmark about a year ago and started eBay. eBay is so so much better sales wise but definitely harder. Shipping, boxes, returns, inad bs etc and has been terribly discouraging for me at times. Like when a buyer blatantly lies and eBay sides with them. Anyway, I want to get away from selling low and only sell over $50 items. I’m older and reselling has become all consuming and I no longer have the energy for it so …. We shall see. But that’s why I would love to hear what you’re thinking.

My experience is that no selling site is booming like it was 1-2 years ago. It's something we have to get used to. TOOOO many sellers, too many sellers selling the same thing, and even the retailers are having it tough. A lot of retailers are closing stores - still closing stores. So there's a lot of changes going on. I know of resellers who were full time sellers, now getting part time work.

eBay hint: Top Rated Seller Plus requires FREE 30 day returns. 😊
@LJack-ck8uhКүн бұрын
I already offer 30-day returns buyer pays shipping and have gotten a couple of messages from eBay saying if I do one day shipping I can be Top Rated Plus. Nothing about me having to pay the shipping on returns.

I personally don’t resonate with this! Ebay is 80% of my total sales. I’m making sales everyday and I don’t promote any of my listings. eBay likes you more if you list consistently
