My daughter is still home and she is 39. She works 12hour shifts at the hospital and does all of our house work. She says at was the least she could do…….she travels and goes many wonderful places. So if that’s what she wants to do,I don’t have a problem with it.

I never did believe that when my children turned into adults that they had to be out of our house, on their own & we we're done being a parent. I completely understand, my 25 year old is still home and my son just turned 18 and got his first job. My 25 year old is working and saving and has goals and my son is just getting started. It's way too hard to shove them out this day and age til they have a good cushion built up. It's not like it was when I was their age, lol! This single momma feels ya!!

I truly enjoyed your chat with me. First, I totally agree with not pushing kids out of the home. Both my kids are in their 20’s working, going to school and saving money. They both saved enough money to buy their own cars and they pay for all their own personal things and they have more savings than me! 😅 Secondly, you reminded me I have to start wrapping gifts, but one of my cats loves to take off the bows or any decor off my presents. 😩 So I have to place all the gifts on top of my entertainment center. Lastly, kudos to you for being such a great mom! Especially having your kids so young and raising them alone. I very much admire you! We have two boys. 15 and 23. Our 23 year old left home and came back because he realized that living on his own is tough. We have the same motto. As long as you are working hard and aiming towards a goal you can stay at home as long as you want. Our 23 year old just bought a used car and the Transmission went out immediately. Now he is saving up to have it replaced and we are sharing two cars between 3 adults.

My babygirl is graduating this year. And for the past few years I was doing the same thing with showing her the receipts and how to save on top of the whole core value of money. She knows how to drive she's about to get her license, as well as know how to pump her own gas and no car maintenance and it's definitely agreed that she should stay home until she can figure out about the jobs and saving money to live in a big world of craziness. I'm grateful that she's willing to be a hard worker and value family and money.

You are so right in letting the kids stay home, age to me doesnt matter when they are working towards a goal. One day you will miss them so much..mine are grown but I'd still have them & their families with me lol ! I also love giving gifts & although my shopping has been done for a while evertime I go out I find "one"more thing for someone lol...yep I have to stop doing that ! I helped her get her license and got her first job at 15. All the money she makes, she spends. I am from a Hispanic household so we do Christmas on the 24th. That's when we do our big dinner and parties. The kids get to open one gift. Then the 25th the kids opened all their other gifts. Then we just rest and eat leftovers.
