Philip’s whole take on the renovation without the two of them “killing” each other kills ME every time. Plus I always love the groovy tunes he chooses for the more eventful moments they share. The very fact that he has used Anna’s FABRIC SCISSORS (a definite no no in the sewing world) and her patisserie utensils could put his life in jeopardy not to mention that if the sink doesn’t fit, “will I live”. My favourite quotation from this vlog is Philip’s observation that one must make “ necessary mistakes on the way to success”. He should start collecting this for a book on surviving DIY. Thanks for sharing, Philip and Anna! Merry, merry!

Another classic, Phillip and Anna. Yes, Phillip, it was funny when Anna trapped you in the dryer space. It was very funny. Anna, you can make watching one paint and that paint dry, so captivating. Phillip, once again you show your Super-Man skill of measuring a complete work of genius. Keep wearing that Super-Man cape. You made my day. Yours is the only video that makes me react to your measuring with my hand to my forehead and my head shaking in the “NO” direction. Almost like, “Oh no. What is coming up next”. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Cori

Phillip, I feel your pain. I sew quilts and mine no matter how many times I measure before I cut, always work out wonky some way or other. I call it "handmade". My husband who is a carpenter, who measures things to the exact millimeter always notices straight away if it's not straight, or one bit is a bit off-center to the rest. Even if other people have looked at it and never said a thing, he will always tell me!! (as if I didn't know exactly where all my mistakes were!!). The temporary kitchen looks great and will be fantastic as a laundry area after.

Phillip, nothing wrong with your method of marking the doors for the handles, I have a store bought jig that is surprisingly similar. Using a tape measure is probably less accurate. I suspect that the drill bit moved just as it started (ask me how I know). The trick is to make a pencil mark as small as possible then use a punch, preferably the automatic centering kind, to make a cone shaped dent in the wood so that the drill bit is forced to start exactly where it needs to. The door handles do not have to be very far off to be noticeable. I also test mine on scrap would before I start putting holes in the cabinet to be sure that I will like the result.
@amayastrata46293 жыл бұрын
My husband has a more old fashioned way but a similar effect. That gives a grip for the drill bit.

A little tip for mixing small amounts of concrete. Use a eggbeater paddle attached to a drill. The paddle is food grade stainless steel and can be washed easily. It makes light work of mixing and with the variable speed of the drill, you can really control mixing rate. Use a round bucket and just like mixing up anything in the kitchen, you can get to all the edges for a fully mixed product.
