Funny thing about mirrors in dining rooms. In the olden days, designers and hostesses were focusing on their luncheon guests comfort and entertainment. (Ladies who lunch.) Some guests would be facing the windows, so they had a lovely view outside to your elegant gardens. The people opposite them looked at a wall. So, the mirror hung horizontally enables those guests to also have a lovely view. Of course paintings also work. And yes, I’m referring to the design magazines of another age, which always reminds me just how old I am! 😂

Just a suggestion, why not turn the mirror on its side, it hides the beautiful wallpaper the way it is.Also it is very warm here in Penticton B.C Canada , no snow only in the mountains and balmy here .

We did try the mirror horizontal but Carole prefers it vertical. With the additional mirrors up it’s starting to work! 😊

Adrian and Carole, I feel the two flanking mirrors should be closer to the main mirror rather than centered on the space between the large mirror and the adjoining wall. I can’t decide on the trim. I think I would have to see more of it done to make a final decision, but I love the wash of green at the bottom. I’m still confused about the gold mirror something about it. It’s just not working for me but maybe when it’s all done it will come together. It just doesn’t feel right.

Hurrah for the pointy stick! Wish a lot more video-makers would do that too, because I HATE the pointing fingers which get in the way of the picture. And also, people who point tend to not respect that we who are watching do have a brain and can look for ourselves. But when there is a precise item to see, then a pointy stick is called for. Looking forward to see the finished walls. I do love green.

WARNING with Lin Crusta! The seams, or a corner will pop if the room isn't heated or cooled. I kept a wallpaper glue needle handy. It's shaped like an injection needle, but filled with the glue So handy to put on seams, corners, etc. Also, using the clear corner protectors if you have an exposed corner 2- section wall. You don't. I have a lot of experience with the paper bc I had an old farmhouse that I used it in. I never thought I would be as excited watching since it's not the Chateau, but I am! You all make everything exciting. Thank you for sharing. ❤ Ohio, USA

Terry was doing a really nice effect on some of the crown molding at Chateau de La Lacelle by dabbing a touch of gold on the highest surfaces with a sponge. It looked great because there was so much detail in them that the all-white didn't really show enough of it, but that little touch of gold set them off perfectly. Had to laugh at your kitty; every Zoom meeting I'm on, I have a striped yellow cat tail swishing back and forth across my face all the time! Then a little paw will sneak up to tap me on the cheek. People love it, but he's relentless with those pleas for attention!

Clever idea to fix the issue with complete panels not fitting below the window, the difference isn’t much when it’s divided between the two panels. I’d paint the chair rail the same colour as the lincrusta just below it so it looks part of it.
