About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK and Escape to rural France to restore this beautiful building to its former glory.

Gosh. Jonathan isn't a little kid anymore. He's big enough to be a real help. I cannot imagine how achy you must all be after moving tons of gravel for days in a row. What a team! But knowing this garden will be there long after we are gone is so inspiring.

We are still looking at the gravel we need to move, My back twinges just thinking about it. But we have managed to get most of the veg planted out today. You must be so thankful of having wonderful families to come over and help. I bet you have all enjoyed being together and seeing it coming together. We'll done. X

Ok guys, I know this is about back breaking labor! I talked my BIL & sis for us to do the labor of laying base in their backyard. I know! Luckily they didn’t have a large yard, but oh me oh my! Whether you shovel it in the wheelbarrow or rake it. We took turns and my BIL made us take often breaks. Luckily their whole back yard is shaded so that helped. So I know how hard that is! We did it again at my nieces house to add around her house over gutters. And also her driveway, with less people then. So you all are amazing for that size area! 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I had forgotten the sundial. What a great way to pay respect to the original gardens while surrounded by the new. Great work everyone, and happy birthday (a little late) to Jonathan.

A 4 wheeler with a hanger would have been helpful to move larger piles of the gravel. Would be helpful for moving tools up and down the property as well.😊❤

The amazing amount of miles you and the pups put in laying the gravel down is impressive. The family will go home bone tired, but they'll be in good shape after the exercise you put them through.

The center circle screams for a pergola. It would be a place with benches to stop and rest, flowers growing up the sides, perhaps a spot for a wedding…

Its all so beautiful, the hard work paid off. I loved seeing Jonathan and Tracy still having wheelbarrow races, I remembered seeing the same scene from when you first started renovating the Chataeu. Patrick and Sasha are great supervisors, all the family being there really did make a difference. 💕🇦🇺

My awe for Tracy has just increased (if that’s even possible!), seeing her have enough energy to have wheelbarrow races with Jonathan, her grandson. Yes, getting the center pathway done is more than half of this part of the gravel project. Well done, all of you!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
