This is a Bamboo Wood Laminated Triangle Micro-Reverse American Hunting Bow, or Bamboo Wood American Hunting Bow for short. Bamboo wood: bamboo as the sinews and maple chips as the bow tyre, of which the bamboo is air-dried for at least a year before it can be used. There are five layers of lamination, and the bow handle is pressed inside the bow, making it more difficult to make than the previously made triangular beauty hunting bows, and the degree of recoil is micro-reverse. The overall shape of the bamboo bow is smooth, and the archery feel is soft, if you are interested, you can make it and experience it! Thank you for watching my video! Hope you will like it.

Bamboo has to be the most resourceful material on the planet! As a young child I used to make bows and arrows, not having any yew trees in our local forest I used ash, I always had a stack of ash limbs drying in the loft of the shed, I was impatient though and would start to make a bow with green wood, this would eventually break or twist and so I would make another one, eventually though the ash would which was the material l used would dry and I could carve a bow that would last, I might have a go at making another English Long Bow from some yew wood,, I would have to purchase this though I can harvest hazel fronds from the forest that I live next to This young lady is a true artisan, I look forward to one of her videos landing in my notifications!

2 years is INSANITY!! But hey, I guess to make it as good as it looks, that takes time… and you definitely have the talent to make it look AMAZING! Plus, given the past bows and arrows you’ve made, it’s almost like the culmination of everything you’ve done before! You never cease to amaze
@Josh_Green442 ай бұрын
The 2 years is just the seasoning of the wood, which is fairly standard for most bow wood. It didn't take 2 years to actually craft.

Bamboo slats don't require 2 years to season. Most bow woods can be crafted after just 1 year of drying the staves, and white woods can be used right away with fire drying/ hardening. I've harvested my bamboo and fire seasoned immediately while extracting the sugars. A month later, after the drying rack, I'm working them. Bamboo is thin and dries fast.

@@Josh_Green44 I don't think anyone thought the young lady would sit by the fire and watch the wood for 2 years, of course it didn't take 2 years to craft.

Very nice. Couple of tricks I used when I was into fletching. Try and differentiate the nock feather somehow. Rooster vs hen feather for instance. Second, your winding of the feathers was excellent. Some people actually wind a line through the length of the feather between every few veins on a spiral to you get better hold down. With superglue, you probably don’t need it. Last, a small dam of melt glue is better for nocks and arrow heads as it’s easier to make frankenarrows when you Robin Hood yours while target shooting. Also, a slight amount on the fore and end windings will help it stay secure and tightly wound. I don’t know how many times you actually adjusted the limbs. But if it truly just once, that was very good crafting. That said, loved your video. Very nice job. Your bow is just lovely. Finally, your shooting method is interesting. Most western archers that I have seen don’t start with the bow overhead and the draw occurs while comes down into release position. The only ones I have seen use that are those that studied Kyudo. Is that (or your country’s style) how you learned to shoot (martial art) or is that just how archery is taught in your country/locality?

So much can be learned, with such wide applicability, from watching just one thing done really well. I'll never build a bamboo bow, but I still benefit from the masterly demonstration of virtues like these: Plan ahead, but be dedicated to the present. Do things in their proper time and order. Give each step its own attention and devotion. Trust that patience will lead to completion. All of that, just from the cat. Don't get me started on the young lady. She was no less instructive.😄
