Vivienne’s porcelain bird plates are the most beautiful plates I have ever seen. The amount of work required to create just one is incredible! She is an amazing artist and creative soul and those plates are absolutely stunning. I love seeing them and I could look at each one for a long time, admiring her work and the detail and beauty of each plate. They are truly museum quality pieces.

I very much enjoyed Bella's trip to the Musée Marmottan- Monet. Simon was hilarious at luncheon, avoiding a sampling of frog legs. I personally have never found anything to taste like chicken except chicken, and no I have never tried frog legs. I came close once, but chickened out in the end. 😅 I have tried escargot. 🐌... Vivienne, I am curious to see yours and Philip's finished plates after they are fired and retuned to you. It would be like elementary school "show and tell." ❤

If you decide to, you can always switch back in the spring. Love your channel!💛

Great video today. Your daughter and her friend were also fun and interesting. They make a good team. Really liked their AI souvenir from their museum visit. Not sure if the MET does this yet but will be at the museum later this week and will explore. The Bloomberg Connects app also is a great guide for exhibits all over the world and It’s free. Looks like Paris has 36 sites and a few more around the country. These include the Musee des arts Decoratifs and Palais Galliera - musee de la Mode de Paris.

I hope you both share them when you receive them. I loved the museum that Isabella and Katy went to. Monet is my favorite. That museum book app/item is AWSOME! There are so many times when I’ve fallen in love with something I’ve seen, but the museum gift shop doesn’t sell a copy, or they have one photo of one item I loved in a book, but not my other favorites, and I’m not interested enough in the rest of the book to buy it. This is the Perfect solution! ♥️♥️♥️ I got to try hand-painted porcelain in Japan… and found out how much practice I needed. 😉 I should have at least tried the stamps, which was their traditional method of “transfer” ware, but I was obsessed with making my set of five with the same theme. Hindsight is always clear, right? I didn’t do it because four is a bad-luck number in Japan (& China, etc.). But they would probably have been OK with me doing one that was different.

( 30:15 ) The almost abstract "Water Lilies" by Monet I found fascinating. It is reminiscent of the American artist Joan Mitchell who was so influenced by Monet in her color palette of Abstract Expressionism. Mitchell even purchased the estate in France where Monet had once lived in the gardener's cottage.

Dear Simon and Vivienne, This was another one of your fabulous “vacation” videos. We got to go everywhere. V - you always know where to shop.👍 Plus, the Place Vendome was a real treat. I’m glad they hadn’t removed the Christmas decoration. There is nothing you cannot do. I m, too, love the China and thoroughly enjoyed your porcelain painting class at LaLande. You are very gifted and it’s wonderful you share your knowledge and experience. Your tray was perfect. Someone mentioned your bird plates were better, in her estimation. If you wanted to market porcelain, it would do well on your website. I’ve been apartment dwelling for years. My Spode is simply a buffet service: 8 plates & 8 C&Ss. That might be a way to start, and it’s plenty. If I do salad and/o desert, I’ve got versatile etched glass plates. Simon you’re getting your beautiful Dig well-trained.😊 (The hanging vine wreath from those vines was so imaginative and pretty.) You must be proud Parents. Isabella has such poise and confidence. Her Friend, Katy, made it very interesting. What I enjoyed was the fun 🤩 those two were having, and the appreciation of the art, history and techniques. Encore! They were darling. I have eaten frog legs once. They did taste like chicken. I’m like Simon: won’t be ordering it for my lunch. Thank you again for the ride 🚘
