Prompt: What 10y growth rates of free cash flow does the market implicitly assume for the given stock? Unfortunately, I couldn't share the link to the chat because of the images. ChatGPT doesn't allow that.. 😢

thanks really interesting! Ive been trying to get OCR of financial statments for years, but looks like chat GPT finally does it! On the Australian Stock Exchange most financial statments are locked in pdfs.....hopefully I can finally automate my investment processes!

Yeah, I feel like there's a multi-million (if not multi-billion) investment business opportunity here. The general understanding of qualitative data (PDF, PDF, PDF!) is off the charts. It must be extremely valuable to finance guys.

I use chrome. But I downloaded firefox to copy the images and then pasted into chrome chatgpt (nothing comes up in firefox when i got to chatgpt not sure why). But it doesn't deliver the results you get with the first prompt. It actually gives me the wrong cash flow. Not sure why. Any idea?

Do you have the ChatGPT-4o model? Maybe just try again in a new chat. I experienced the same unpredictable OCR in yesterday's video.

I think this won't work for people just coming in. Your prompt says nothing about terminal growth rate, etc. I think it is using information that you have given it prevoiusly so folks who follow this won't get the results you get. I get no python code for example. how would it know from the prompt to provide it? It wouldn't. I would love to get this to work, but I think you need to provide more info and test it first.

I think the strength is that everything you forget to say will be implicitly or explicitly "filled in" by the model. That's the power of general world understanding. The models just fill in the blanks. Of course, this can also be dangerous if the implicit assumptions are not clear to the prompt eningeer. Can you provide more details on what you're looking for? Maybe I can uncover this in futur videos.

@@finxter I was essentially following your exact instructions to see if I could get a DCF, but I couldn't. The only difference would have been you are using Firefox and I am using Chrome and using their 'fullpage' extension and I tried the screenshot in firefox pasting it into chrome. Otherwise I did everything the same way you did. I think it will be very useful to do what you did here with any stock. I think I watched another video of yours that did NVDA that I really enjoyed as well but didn't try entering into my own chat. I'll play around with this to see if I can get chatGPT 4o to do what you seem to be able to get it to do. Thanks!
