Comparing the Janome M7 and CM17 Sewing Machines

The M7 is my "if I win the lottery" machine. I currently have a Skyline 7 and love the Janome brand. Thank you, Kim, for the basics of each machine. I think I'll go get a lottery ticket tomorrow...

Thank you for highlighting the differences. I wrongly assumed the embroidery component was the biggest difference…but after this video NOW I want to investigate the stitch regulator on the M17. I might even upgrade from my M7…I’ll let you know if I do! 😊 Thanks Kim!

Hi Kim! I've had the M17 since July 2022 and have had a few problems that were not user error. My tech had to reach out to Janome to get info on repairs. I look forward to you doing videos on the ASR and feet. Thanks!

I have the M7 it was more than I wanted to pay however it was worth the money for me no interest on the finance. I'm in my 70s and just quilt. I could not see paying over 12 thousand for the M17 it's a beautiful machine and if you have ,more ti,etc in your life than I do go for it.

Hi Kim, I couldnt het a answer for either machine on site or google. Do you know if you can use or is available on either machine, the AcuFil system? Thank you for this video. Love my little janome

I don't know much about the AcuFil system however from what I can tell it will only work with embroidery machines so that cuts out the M7 for sure. The best place to get information on the embroidery side of things is in the Janome Sewing Machines group. You can find it at facebook.com/groups/439179004642148/user/100064488982636. I'm sure that one of the Janome educators who monitor that group will have an answer and more information for you.

Hi, I've had the 8700 and now the 9400. Should I upgrade to 9450 or what is next? and What is the differences? Thanks.

I don't think there is enough difference between the 9400 and the 9450 to upgrade. There is a big difference between the 9450 and the M7 as to throat space and other features and then the M17 is a whole other thing! If you're happy with the machine you currently have, I wouldn't suggest upgrading because there is a big price difference.
