Another fine coaching session. Thanks Brad and Jon. Hand 3 introduced a great concept to be used in fast fold.

When Jacks remain an overpair when 4 players see the flop... gimme some of that potion.

Hand 3 - I think the check flop and evaluate is a good idea. However, I think you can also just start with the assumption on flop that the 12bb cold call is more often than not a recreational, so on river, think you can just value jam and expect to get called by KTs, KJs, maybe even AQ occasionally. When you block though, I don’t think you can fold since his value region is very narrow, and he can easily be jamming AK himself(and apparently worst)

Weird spot where I think cold calling the 12 BBs is acceptable due to the rec being so short… my biggest concern throughout whole hand was that BB could be a reg. Value jam may be a narrow but incredibly difficult to find naturally bluffs. Was a tough spot where I imagine Jon was hoping villain wouldn’t find the “own me” door but Villain just happened to this time.

I think it is interesting that your calculation includes the short stack possibly being a reg because topping off sometimes doesn't work correctly. I do not play these stakes nor am I nearly as good at the game as you and your competitors are, but this has definitely happened to me on multiple occasions. If the BB wasn't a known rec player, I would assume a reg trying to hit an implied odds hand or set mine after calling out the BB.

In the AK hand is it a bad strategy checking the River to let oll his bluffs bet and just call? because when they raise you like in that example let you in a difficult spot due to they almost don't have bluffs and you have to fold

Coach Brad here: I wasn’t on board with most of this hand… it’s so difficult putting yourself in positions where you’re just guessing and hoping villain is bluffing enough when your range is full of bluffcatchers. Biggest takeaway IMO is to avoid getting yourself in spots like this in the first place.

why is the last hand K5dd such an obv bluff-raise candidate? i would rather turn some 7x into a bluff to block rivered 2pair combinations.

Flop sets and better, or big combo draw, easy as that.😉

The hand with fish holding KJ doesnt make sense? why would he check twice? with the Nuts... betting the turn is essential which wouldve most likely got folds from AJ if the bet sizing was correct. if your going to check twice and your hand worsens on the river, why bet??? once he checked the turn, he has to check the river regardless of what comes, if its a blank then he can check raise if someone tries to steal it.

The AK vs KT hand is some of the most absurd poker “analysis” I’ve ever heard and was very poorly played. And the post hand analysis was even worse, thinking that the BB was intentionally turning his hand into a bluff? Lol, man stop. It’s a 2/5 game. The BB was an idiot that over valued his shitty top pair and took the small-ish bet sizes as weakness. It’s that simple.

in order to win the main pot you have to show up with a hand that at least have some solid showdownvalue against the allin player, so it's not that unreasonable to turn your Kx type hands into a bluff in this spot
