There are definitely bits and pieces from different things. Mostly Lord of the Flies, especially in book 2 with ..... well, I won't spoil it lol. But book 2 also has a mix of Warm Bodies in it too. Hunger Games here and there, like with the government group watching the kids behind cameras, only interfering if they need to, etc.
