This is hard-hitting and good. When my children were babies and toddlers, I was going through a difficult stage of overwhelm and feeling sorry for myself. My husband noticed that I had a pattern of saying, when the kids are napping, then I can have chocolate, (or have a nap, or read a book). It wasn't the action so much that was the problem, but it was the heart behind it. I felt bad for myself and wanted to reward myself for the work I was doing. He told me to stop looking for external reward and rest, and to find rest in my work. I was very angry initially, but it helped me so much to reposition my thinking and attitude around my work. Instead of trying to escape my work, I took my pride in what I was doing, and found rest and peace in the natural rhythms of the day. Being thankful, and seeing the beautiful purpose in what we are doing helps so much!

I am not a mom (yet) and I work outside the house as a primary school teacher, an exciting but also a very busy job at times. Without Christ in me I easily fall into laziness as well. Nevertheless God blessed me recently with an awesome new apartment at an awesome, yet peaceful location. Today I worked outside, but tomorrow I start the day with cleaning up the mess that is a leftover of me moving out as well, the first time in my new, cleaned up apartment. What I want to say actually, is I need this kind of videos as reminder my home is my castle and in need and deserving of great attention when keeping the household in order. I therefore bind to hell being a mediocre homekeeper while binding myself to excell in keeping a right balance between the work, studies and keeping the house neat and clean, in accordance with this word and colossians 3:23 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah, glory to God ❤!

I am, didnt used to be. 63 years old, raising 9 year old grandson we adopted, have had since he was 17 months. Age is catching up, not able to keep up to the standards I did in my 20's and 30's.

We are all in different seasons of life! Remember, it’s not about how much you do. It’s about the attitude behind it and it sounds to me like you are giving it your all and that’s what matters! You are doing a great job!
