The way I look at hay mess is they love to sleep and play in it, therefore it's not wasted as it's been used for mental and physical stimulation even if they've not eaten it...saved a bit of my sanity changing how I viewed hay waste! These days I'm throwing out a whole black sack a week! This year I'm going to start composting it and using it to grow veggies for them too :) Oh also with Pecans fluffy and bloating in the mornings, with my sensitive tummy piggy I was advised by my vet to take her veg out half hour before feeding to let it reach room temperature, something about the cold affecting the bacteria in the guts. A little treat didn't bother her but the main veg bulk we did at night made her poops soft. Just thought I'd let you know in case Pecans issue was similar.

Maybe you could scatter the trio's veggies in small pieces around their cage. I know this would be messy, but it would mean Pecan would have to work a bit harder to get her veggies, slowing down her intake and the movement would hopefully help her pass the gas more easily. Just a suggestion :)

You are an inspiration. I just bought a bunch of fleece for my 11 piggies (7 are rescues), in a attempt to at least have matching bedding. I like your buckets to keep things tidy. I tend to wrap mine up like giant diapers...but the bucket looks waaay easier to manage.

Hey!!, We got two rabbits today (who will be living in my room basically all the time- until the summer when we will let them out). They are both around 3 month old boys, which we were not planning to get! At the moment, we have a smallish dog and two hamsters. In the past, we’ve have other hamsters and guinea pigs (my parents also had bunnies at one point!) My sister named one Smokey and I named mine Seymour- after your little one! Have a good day xx

Just something to think about. I was not able to feed veggies right out of the fridge because they were too cold. Both of my boys puff up when feed cold veggies or if the water is too cold. I literally had to get them out of the refrigerator and wait about an hour to get the vegetables so they didn't puff up. I hope you can find a happy medium of her, the piggy struggle is real! Atm I'm not able to feed veggies to the boys. 😟 except a few twice a week😥 even with meds. But they can have grass from the yard😄 it's just starting to come back in

Maybe try to feed small amounts of veggie to all a couple times a day. So they get the same amount of veg, just in small portions over the day.

It may not work with your setup, but I have canvas hammocks for my pigs (piece of fabric with corners tied to supports). I noticed they avoid peeing in the hammocks, so I put most of their hay in there. They can hop in and munch or nap. I do have to separate out the poops once or twice a day.

This is kind-of late, but I was listening to the part about Apple Dumplin's bum bath and I know that some people do give some piggies (especially the ones with longer hair) baths, but I never give my piggies baths. They are both short-haired, and never look dirty or different, so I've never thought to give them a bath. So I wanted to ask about baths and all of that because I don't really know a lot. If anyone has information on this, please reply and help me! Thanks!

my two pigs puff their fur out when they eat cold veggies from the fridge but then it goes down and they never bloat. also if the house is cold they puff up so mine do it just when they r cold. when they eat room temp veggies they don't do it. love ur videos.

Oxbow has vitamin C tablets that we use, but we wet them to make it easier for our piggies to eat. We also have to separate our piggies when they eat because the one would be underweight again if we stopped separating them.

I switched to Sherwood pet health support tablets so that I am not using soy, wheat or molasses with the pigs, same with their pellets.

Those are good, too. Our vet has told us not to feed our piggies pellets because they are no longer babies. So, we give them dandelion greens and strawberries with the occasional red-leaf lettuce, carrot, or apple.

Have you tried the Child Life brand liquid vitamin C? We use it and promote it at Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue. 1cc per pig per day, and they love it! It's sweet, so it's like a little treat for them. Mine will steal the syringe from my hand, they get so excited about it. You can buy a 4-pack of it on Amazon.

Vitamin C supplements have been known to contribute to sludge and bladder stones. Giving them a slice of bell pepper with their veg gives them plenty of vitamin C. Plus most pigs love bell peppers :)

I cut off the bottoms and store it in water, it really soaks up the water and puffs, then separates easily.

I havent finished the video yet but for human vitamin c I wouldn't use Jamison chewable I found my pigs got kinda bloaty and they have alot of sugars when I looked at the I grediants it wasnt the best. I use non flavoured powder tablets I forget the brand but if your interested I can go take a picture of the label for you its a Costco or co-op brand i believe!

I have 4 guinea pigs and 3 of them don't drink water but they eat their vegetables, and my other pig doesn't eat their vegetables as much but they drink water and I have to change it almost 3 times a day. Is this bad or is it ok? ( the ones that aren't drinking water are boys and the one that is drinking water is a girl, not sure if that makes a difference )
