Definitely add lining to backless dress, they tend to drop and you don’t want to see the inside of the dress. Have a great weekend.

I think you should line the backless dress. I wonder if you could sew bra cups into the lining? Hi Five for stepping out of your comfort zone! I think we all need to do that every once in a while. Could you demonstrate how to make the little Christmas hats please? I love the idea for the Christmas table. Also, could you ask your sister if there is a pattern for the sewing machine wall hanging please? I would love to make one for a friend. And it's a good thing i don't live in the UK. I would go broke buying things from Adam. I'm so glad you are participating in vlogmas. I especially love watching the advent calendar openings. Have fun at the retreat.

Hello, love all your plans, I would probably try and finish the Jessie coatigan to wear rather than working on it on your retreat. You don’t say how long you are away for but would suggest 2/3 new projects which will excite you more. I really like the sweatshirt material you bought. Might get tempted myself. Hi Angela - what a fabulous video - I loved it and kept having to stop to write things down or go and check I had red white and green balls of wool( I do 😃). I want to download the sweatshirt pattern, even though I live in Australia ( I’ll buy light sweatshirting !) and I think you should take everything to the retreat otherwise you’ll regret leaving the others. Your sister is so talented and thoughtful - what a fantastic gift . It must have taken her a long time. Not sure about turning over the edge of the dress🤔If you lined it, you could just sew into the side seams and maybe topstitch to keep in from moving as I don’t think you could even handsew the bottom of the lining to the dress without it showing ( presume you are just thinking of lining top half)? Great work, enjoy the retreat. X

The retreat sounds like lots of fun. Definitely take several projects so you have options. Personally, I would leave more involved projects at home, because I would need to concentrate. I suggest either lining or using binding for the party dress. I don’t care for folding edges under twice and topstitching. The gift from your sister is lovely! She’s very talented. I love watching your videos and they usually inspire me to make a purchase of some fabric, pattern or both as we have similar taste. This week I laughed when you pulled out the leopard print as I’ve just bought it too and like you had the same thoughts as I liked the blue but went for the same colour as you for similar reasons and also got the hubby involved in the decision. A lining always elevates a make, you could stitch it to the shoulder a nd sleeve seams inside to hold the lining in place. For the skirt make some thread loops between fabric and lining to give movement. Take all the stuff with you! Angela

You can never take too much to a retreat. Then you have e a choice and can sew just what you feel like doing. Why not break out of your comfort zone and choose a different pattern and fabric colours? I'm sweatshirt mad at present, too. I just want to be warm and wear snuggly clothes. I have also made my third Southbank Dress. I do fancy the Billie Sweatshirt and Dress pattern, so I may well purchase it. I saw those little hats in a bistro while out for lunch today; they are so cute.

Hi Angela Take everything to the retreat, you never know what you’re going to be in the mood to sew 😊 I’m the same with books too, gotta have choices to suit your mood. I need an extra suitcase for sewing projects and literature 😂 Enjoy the retreat. I have a weekend of sewing planned with my sister that I am really looking forward to. She sews absolutely amazing bags. Your sister’s sewing is amazing. That’s what is so fabulous about this hobby. No two sewists the same. 😊❤

Oh I love that blue fabric. Whatever you decide to do ( I’d be tempted to try the lining and extend it down to the thigh as a slip.) I recommend that you add some thin elastic around the curve of the back so it doesn’t stretch out and sits nicely against your skin. Can’t wait to see it 🥰

Oh my gosh Angela! I don't do animal print either, but I too, wanted to dip my toe in the animal print world! I just made the Alana Dress by Sinclair in a yellow and white dotty zebra stripe Ponte de Roma fabric! My husband loved it. So funny! I'll be going to Arizona soon, so it definitely still weather appropriate. I'm so proud of us for going out of our comfort zones. And, just wow, on your sister's gifts. So pretty and so thoughtful. I think you should hang it behind you on the closet door. Then it will be seen with every vlog you make!

How long is your sewing retreat? A month...? 😂 seriously though it would be nice to have options and see how the mood takes you. I'm also on a Devon sewing retreat from 3-6 Dec ... can't wait! Normally I take a few choices but this time I'm planning on making the Mallard coat by Sewing Revival. I'm making it as a cocktail coat in a beautiful fabric I bought from Stone Fabrics. Hi Angela..I made the Casey cropped sweatshirt after seeing your last vlog…I did add a couple of inches to the length as it was too cropped for me….i did it all on my Overlocker and it took no time at all to whip up….i love it. In fact I have now made 3 and intend to make more….so big thank you for sharing…..still love the billie sweatshirt too though ❤😊
