Hey Annika, since you've asked for advice here's what helped me regulate my sleep and skin. Maybe that will be of some use to you. Sleep wise: 1. Getting outside for 5-10 minutes straight after you wake up. Getting natural sun rays helps to regulate your wake-up-sleep cycle and melatonin secretion. As much as u can avoid screens during the first 30 minutes - 1 hour of your day. 2. Off screens at least an hour before you go to sleep. Screens emit blue light which naturally occurs in the morning, hence if you're on your screens in the evening your body gets the message it's not time to wind down yet. Also, it could be helpful to watch/read something mellow rather than criminal if that makes sense. That's because you want your nervous system to calm down and not aggravate when you go to sleep. Blue light-blocking glasses in the evening might be a good idea to help with melatonin secretion. 3. Dial down on caffeine in the afternoons. Caffeine can still be in your system 10 hrs later and interfere with your sleep. 4. There are plenty of good-quality podcasts on regulating your sleep. Dr Huberman has some good advice for starters. Skin wise: I would focus on your gut health, liver support, blood sugar control, stress and sleep. Maybe working with a naturopathic doctor, registered dietician or nutritionist would be a good idea? Read some on the gut-skin axis - it's mindblowing and often the issues in this area are the root cause of hormonal acne.

One thing that changed my skin was to use less products (max 3) because my skin was so reactive. Also using sensitive skin cleasers helped a lot! my favorite is the bioderma sensibio micelar water foaming gel (i used like 5 bottles of it)! Love your videos❤

Have you checked your gut health? Mostly of the skin issues comes from that actually, and when your 'inner health' is good, the skin will clear itself without harsh creams and such. I agree with magnesium. Taking that in the evening helped me falling asleep easier. Took it as a course, noticed that my sleep schedule got more stable + the menstruation almost wasn't painful anymore. Hope this was useful information 🫶🏻 have been dealing with same kind of problems myself

I’m 35 and have struggled with acne all of my adult life, until this year. Game changers have been double cleansing with Panoxyl and Vanicream gentle facial cleanser. Instead of a rag or just my hands, I use disposable face towels to remove the face wash. Then, will splash my face to clean the rest off. I also stopped using a towel to dry my face and would use either paper towel or let my skin air dry. I spray hypochlorous acid spray on my face after washing and let it fully dry. Lastly, I found using a basic moisturizer, such as the Vanicream daily facial moisturizer, didn’t irritate my face.

Hey love. I’ve struggled with acne literally all of my life. Acne, oily skin and large pores. I had my first pimple at like 11 years old and once I officially hit puberty I was literally pizza face. I’ve tried almost everything. I now hardly ever break out once I eliminated dairy from my diet. I’ve noticed now even when I drink milk or have certain cheese’s that my skin tends to act up. I say maybe try with a dairy free diet and see if it will help reduce the amount of breakouts. I hope this helps. ❤

Babe, I suffered with hormone acne for a bit and I stopped applying ALL skin care over (e.g. face moisturiser) over my breakout prone areas. I used La Roche-Posay sunscreen under my makeup so it could apply smoother, and this really did wonders for my skin and helped it heal completely. Now, I am slowly applying a super light moisturiser and hyaluronic acid after 1 year of not using any skincare (it feels amazing), and my skin is completely healed, smooth, clear and all breakouts are gone 😍 So less skincare products as this would absorb and made me breakout (in my case anyway)

The issue with hormonal acne is that a lot of it is internal! I used BC to handle mine for years but just recently came off and plan on staying off. Since then I've tried to clean up my diet and exercise and I think that has helped maintain my hormone levels a lot. My brother also used Clear STEM for his hormonal acne and it worked wonders for him (I think it's a more natural version of Accutane?). Sometimes it just takes growing out of it. I know the struggle girl!!!

Try Clindamycin for your acne! I have sensitive and dry skin and I’ve been using it for 10 years now. I use it mainly when I get active acne when I get my period. It’s like an alcohol solution so apply it with a cotton round at night and use SPF daily.

Sleep Podcasts! Super helpful for falling asleep if you're someone who can't turn your brain off. They give you something somewhat entertaining to focus on but boring enough that you can doze off; sometimes I don't even make it through the intro ads. I like GetSleepy and The Sleepy Bookshelf on Spotify. As far as skin, somewhat aggressive, but benzoyl peroxide (either as a gel or a wash) really helped me, if you're willing to go the somewhat medical chemical-y route but stay within the realm of topicals.

If I use anything to help me sleep other than Benadryl I use patches and here is why.. it’s transdermal and if I don’t like it or want it gone or I’ve made it through the hump of the night I pull it off and it’s gone within ten min. Vici wellness makes some, so does kind but I haven’t tried the kind ones yet.

I also have really sensitive skin, the paula's choice acne kit (it's a 3 step set) is really good, it's the only thing that helped my skin besides medication. you have to be careful tho because the benzoyl peroxide can bleach things. their bha toner is also great!

What has helped me for my acne is putting on aloe vera at night. Washing my face at night with a drop of apple cider vinegar with water. Simple, but it has worked wonders. Research on it. ❤

Hi! Loved the suggestion! We have ACV because we drink it for gut health. One question: Do you still use night skincare products after the ACV wash? I am planning to try it but I'm not sure if I should still use my toner and cream after the ACV wash.

@@oilpastaoishiii I personally don't, but do research on it just because every skin is different. What I do use if I am going to use something else is aloe vera, aloe vera in itself is moisturizing. Hope this helps 🙏 also don't put too much acv on your mixture more water than acv. Make sure it doesn't get in your eyes because it burns lol. Hope this made sense, but please do your research!

You need to try a magnesium oil topical spray (I use Cymbiotika but plenty of options on Amazon) and the New Chapter magnesium supplement with Ashwaganda. Melatonin doesn’t work for a lot of people! If you want to add some luxe aromatherapy vibes I’d do the Lush dream lotion and / or some type of essential oil roll on or deep sleep pillow spray

don’t rule out oral and topical acne meds. Topical tretinoin, and oral spironalactone helped me tons and my breakouts were definitely hormonal and stress related. I had jawline/chin and forehead flare ups! Ride out the first 1-2 months, lots of sunscreen and thickkk moisturizer at night helped me get thru the dry phase and I’m so glad I waited it out.

Hi, im a doctor and have suffered with hormonal acne since i was 9. I went to multiple doctors, followed terrible advice and ruined my skin barrier a ton. One dermatologist did help me control my acne but my skin was as dry as it can get. I started investigating into corean beauty, left all my rutine and did a simple routine with toner, vitamin C and moisturizer, no sunscreen but i do protect my face from the sun with hats and glases, only wash my face once a day , i am lovind the im from rice tone and face cream,. I learned that less is more, i was using a ton of products that were ruininge me skin barrier, i learned that i have very sensitive skin and using harch products made my acne worse. So i just went with hydrating steps and now my face is less greasy and i get a pimple once or twoce a month.i know this might not work for you, just telling my story, if anything here helps.

I read that when you take things to make you sleep it’s not the medicine that makes you groggy, it’s the suffocation. Like you’re so knocked out you won’t wake up when you can’t breathe or need to move. You wake up because of lack of air or discomfort. Medicine won’t let you do that.
