भारत के मध्य प्रदेश के धार जिले में ऐतिहासिक स्थल माण्डव में श्रीराम का प्राचीन मंदिर है जहां पर राजजी चतुर्भुज स्वरूप वाली मूर्ति विराजमान है। बताया जाता है कि यह मूर्ति 957 ईस्वी सन की है। विक्रम संवत 1823 में महंत रघुनाथ दासजी महाराज पुणे (महाराष्ट्र) ने अपने स्वप्न के आधार पर यहां इस प्रतिमा के बारे में बताया था। महारानी शकु बाई पंवार ने खुदाई करवाई थी। इसमें चतुर्भुज श्रीराम, माता जानकी, लक्ष्मणजी, हनुमान व सूर्य देवता के साथ ही जैन मंदिर में स्थापित शांतिनाथ भगवान की प्रतिमाएं तलघर से मिली। ऐसा बताया जाता है कि इन प्रतिमाओं को मुस्लिम शासकों से बचाव के लिए तात्कालिक संतों या महंतों द्वारा तलघर में रखवा दिया गया होगा। ये भी किंवदंती है कि महारानी का विचार था कि इन प्रतिमा को धार नगर में ही स्थापित कि या जाए। प्रतिमाओं को हाथी पर ले जाने का प्रयास किया गया, लेकिन वह हाथी हिला भी नहीं। ऐसे में इन प्रतिमाओं को मांडू में ही स्थापित किया गया। मांडू के इस मंदिर से जुड़ी और भी कई कथाएं हैं।
An ancient temple of Shri Ram is located in Mandav, a historical site in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, India, where the idol in the form of Rajaji quadrilateral is seated. It is said that this idol is of 957 AD. In Vikram Samvat 1823, Mahant Raghunath Dasji Maharaj Pune (Maharashtra) told about this statue here on the basis of his dream. Queen Shaku Bai Panwar had done the excavation. In it, the idols of Shantinath Lord installed in Jain temple along with Chaturbhuj Shri Ram, Mata Janaki, Lakshmanji, Hanuman and Surya Devta were found from the basement. It is said that these idols must have been kept in the basement by the immediate saints or mahants to protect them from the Muslim rulers. It is also legend that the Queen thought that these idols should be installed in Dhar Nagar itself. An attempt was made to carry the idols on the elephant, but that elephant did not move. In such a situation, these statues were installed in Mandu itself. There are many more stories related to this temple of Mandu.
