"Chaukat" shortfil was shooted in Kalvan. Morpis Entertainment conducted Film making and Acting workshop for local studants. This film is the result of that workshop.

Same thing happened at time of my sisters haldi, a day before her marriage, but pandit said that it's not a problem, as bride is form of Goddess, she can perform puja and and all rituals of wedding while on periods. We want more open minded people. 🌺😄😁

When wife is in periods husband cannot perform puja in Andhra Telugu families. That is why they take medicines to stop or usher early period. In the alternative for some other functions like ground breaking ceremony some body else, both husband and wife, complete the puja for fear of missing the auspicious muhurath. Let us not unnecessarily witch-hunt traditions in wrong depictions.Without wife no important puja can be performed

Dont worry , I'll tell you . This film wasn't about that she couldn't bear a child . It was about periods , in some cultures women are not allowed to enter temples , attend Pooja's during periods. They are considered impure during periods . The girl/woman is supposed to sit , sleep in a different room , not a room coz the room would become impure . Nobody touches her in those 5-7days . So in this story the bride got her periods earlier than expected due to undergoing stress in those wedding preparation days , and on the day she got periods she had to attend a pooja in the house . The pooja was for the well being of the married couple and it is mandatory . And now that she's got her periods she's made to sit in such a dirty place as you can see near the stable, you can see the hen and the calf/cow . That's basically a place where all the tamed animals in a farmer's house live . Her drinking water is different, everything is different , she has to sleep there only. And for the pooja only the groom is attending it now because when women have periods they are considered untouchables . They couldn't postpone the pooja coz the preparation was done already and all the guests have arrived .

During menstrual days ... excessive bleeding...harmonal changes ...pain is unavoidable...so top of that if a woman is bound to do ...House hold work. ...which is endless..so automatically related mental and physical exerssion ...stress exceeds and along with that if she has to sit for Pooja ...Dev karya...which requires longer hours ..that add on to the pain..so thinking of female metal and physical health only...this provision is made to sit aside and take complete rest for five days ....its science and not andh shardha...
