The interview I saw with Robert, he asked them 3 hours prior to the main event for Chavez to weigh in because they made his fighter weigh in once they entered the building. Then the promoters and commission kept pressuring them and threatening garcia to just fight. Fast forward 3 hours right before the fight chavez agreed and was over the hydration and wanted them to go directly from the scale to the ring. So I'm thinking it's a mental game they tried to play

I am going to make this clear. Since spanish is my language and i learned how everything went. The contract didn't have a clause, BUT, the mexico city commission, which was overseeing the event has a rule that stipulates that the fighters need to make weight a second time the day of the fight, and not go over a 4 kilos a think, and they had made it clear to BOTH fighters, don't go over that limit. In fact, one of the fights before got canceled because someone rehydrated more than the limit. Now, they did the weight good the 1st time, and second time chino did the weight with no issue. The problem was the Omar just didn't want to weight the second time. They spent 3 hrs trying to convince him to weight, and he just didn't want to do it. So, Robert and chino were like, well, if there are instructions about this second time weight, how come Omar doesn't follow the rules, just like us. Is it only because is Chávez?? So, if there were no instructions about the second weight, for sure the fight would've happened, BUT, princess Omar and his team didn't want to follow the rules. And that's it.

Weigh-in was 76 kilos, rehydration weight max was 81 kilos, Misael met the rehydration weight and Chavez weighed in at 86.7 kilos after 3 hours of Chavez being stubborn and not wanting to weigh-in. A kilo is roughly 2.4lbs so Omar was at least 20lbs heavier than the pacted 76kilos. Chávez Sr was trying to defend Omar saying he weighed 82.4 and not 86.7 acting like he still didn’t weigh in heavier than the contracted rehydrated weight

It is a complete criminal mockery of the modern weight class system that was supposed to make it easier for fighters to transition between the old weight classes (ostensibly - in reality it was about creating more belts).
