I’m right there with you about the dissociation from the horrible shit I listen and read about. It takes me a solid 20 minutes of thinking and digesting before I actually feel anything about these, but it’s easier to just not go through all that effort.

The Burger Krieg has a very in depth video about Unit 731. He describes how the military was completely ignoring the civilian government, the founder's childhood, incredible detail of every disease they subjected the victims to, and how most of them avoided justice after the war.

well the fire was a few 100 years later so im sure people had coppied the findings and learned a lot from it by then. So the original documents were lost but the knowledge was probably still around especially since how public both of them were with their findings and experiments

I did a fifteen-page paper on Unit 731 for a college term paper and several families are still suing the Japanese government for the actions of Unit 731. Also due to how many of their medical journals were destroyed, it can be challenging to find primary sources but not impossible. However, I am not sure if I would recommend people reading the primary sources that I had to use. The video is correct though most of their experiments were done just because their twisted minds were curious. Also, Shirō Ishii one of the heads of the group was given complete immunity and even got to move back to Japan and still perform as a doctor. I have been curious about the other units because they are not well documented so there is that to think about.
