In the comics, the Justice League had a meeting to update supervillain threat levels. Batman proposed moving -Slade- Deathstroke from national to continental. Superman asked why he was even a national threat and held a vote to move him down to a statewide threat. The next time Slade appeared, he soloed the Justice League and stood over a mortally wounded Superman. Instead of killing Superman Slade said "I think you should reconsider my threat level." Slade was spying on the Justice League the whole time for another unrelated assignment but wanted to throw down because he felt some kind of way about his threat level being demoted.

The ending to Teen Titans was so bad because it was meant to be 6 Seasons long but was canceled half way through Season 5, which causes the last season to be super condensed and left a lot of loose ends. Slade was most likely supposed to be the main antag of Season 6 as well.

They did at least sort of wrap up the whole Terra arc in the TTG comic (issue 50 I do believe) where they did her entire backstory and introduced her brother Geoforce. It ended with him and Beast Boy agreeing that she was happy just living a normal life and both of them would be assholes if they forced her out of it against her will

I remember explaining the absolutely diabolical things this man was doing, in detail, to a friend's mom (she was wondering why we were so INTO it), when we were younger. It's hard as a child to understand just how realistic of an evil the Teen Titans Slade was. Especially for such a campy cartoony superhero show. The mother was shocked because of just how down-to-earth the toxic manipulation and abuse of Slade actually was, and to hear small children describing it in detail without really grasping the severity definitely heightened that effect. tl;dr TT Slade is a damn good villain. Especially now that we all seem to have pretty much gotten over our "relatable villain" phase and can appreciate a *bad dude* once again.

@@CorwinTheOneAndOnly Believe me, we understood what was going on. Early 2000s cartoons tried, but cutting to black or fading away from certain angles did little to hide the severity of scenes. We weren't babied. The mental torture of Robin was one of our favorite episodes because of how it dealt with a hero getting obsessed, to the point where their mental state was compromised, leading to them lashing out at and ruining other relationships. Even with him essentially being drugged. That's why we were so into it. It had been a while since we had encountered a villain that acted so evil without a clear discernable "reason". We enjoyed him as a villain, but we weren't cheering him on. We were impressed with the cartoon because of arcs like his though. It showed realistic evil and its effects. That anyone could commit (ignoring powers).

The thing that made Slade such an impressive antagonist was that in a universe filled with aliens, metahumans, magic, demons and gods he managed to thoroughly terrorise the protagonists in a way no else could as just a *human* , granted a superserum enhanced human, but still human. So much so that one of them is constantly on the verge of a mental breakdown at the thought of him coming back and that the literal demonic avatar of destruction Trigon (who frankly deserves his own video)was so impressed by his level of savagery that he revived him just so he could watch him beat their a*ses again. Bro had DC's satan impressed

@@Libbawittz they thankfully didn't go into it in the cartoon. I had the displeasure of reading the comics and it's worse than you think. -Deathstroke- Slade didn't so much groom Terra, it was more of Lolita and Léon the Professional but a writers sick fantasy that got past editing.

You know the 5th season was actually supposed to be rwice as long, but had episodes cut. The Brotherhood of Evil was supposed to have a string of losses and that is when Slade would appear and just take over their entire operation. To show them how it's really done, thoroughly traumatizing Beast Boy. Then in the following seasons he was slated to go after Starfire and Cyborg to, but again, the show got cancelled.

Full deets on Robin's origins. The first Robin, Dick Grayson who's this Robin was part of a circus acrobatic family called the Flying Graysons and if I recall the circus turned down a bribe from the mob so the mob sabotaged the performance [that Bruce Wayne aka Batman went to see that very day] by cutting the lines loosening them for the accident to occur with Dick witnessing his parents fall to their death as he was part of the performance. This leads to Dick being orphaned and Bruce Wayne adopting him as he went through a similar pain too as he's the one who could understand what Dick is going through thus Robin is the adoptive son of Batman. Eventually after becoming Robin, Dick brought the man who murdered his parents to justice.

Robin parents were killed when they got to Gotham during their Circus tour. They were Trapeze Artist and the mob was looking for money from the circus owner, he refused. They sabatoged the rope of the flying Graysons act and Robin made it across safely but it broke during his parents part of the act.

It was never explained in the cartoon but Dick Grayson had a huge chip on his shoulder after leaving Batman. Depending on continuity he was pissed that Barbara turned him down for Bruce, Batman excluded him from getting revenge for the man that had his parents killed, or Batman beat the ever living shit out of a goon in front of his wife and son. Robin had something to prove and everything was personal and he did what he did to protect his friends.

Just so you know. They *did not cancel the show after the fight with Trigon.* The team up was done pretty well in my opinion. They had another season and a movie afterwards but it was canceled after that. Still don’t know the reason because the backlash from the reboot was pretty big.

I have long had some suspicions that Slade in that cartoon was in some way related to batman. Slade was batman's way of preparing robin for one day joining the justice league but before he did he had to overcome a mighty villain that would test him in every aspect so when he overcame that victory he would be ready for the league.

Originally the joker didn't have redeeming qualities either. There's been two instances and those were when the joker regained his full sanity and then currently with the joaqoan Phoenix movie. But other than that, joker is just a psychopath.
