Love this song so much! It reminds me of my mom. We left my dad when I was 14 after all the years of her getting physically and emotionally abused by him. I wish she never had to experience any of it. We did life together just her and I from bawling our first night getting away, to washing our hair in the gas station sink and homeless just looking for a break and some safety, to her battling cancer but there are sooo many more triumphs to celebrate! And I'm sooo thankful for the woman she raised me to be. ❤ Chayce this song hits hard! Thank you for reminding me how far we've come. She's the true hero in this story. ❤

Nowadays though is parent(s) fall on hard times like that and they yank the kid(s) away into the system when in actuality no parent who ACTUALLY loves their kid(s) WANTS to choose putting their kid(s) through hardship but just because it's beyond their control doesn't mean they don't love their kid(s), but let's put them in the system and pull an already down on luck parent and pull what means the most in the world away from them and out of their life when I feel it only teaches the child values and lessons in the end if they do end up having to endure it. Alot of what's wrong with the world and current generation is nowhere near how things used to be.

I remember when you sang the song I believe you wrote it the night before. It was Mother’s Day and what a wonderful present for your mother that her son wrote her a song that is fantastic so good. Your mother must be so proud of you chance good for you continue to grow and have much success. You’re already on your way. Lost my step son I raised since he was 3 as his mom was a druggie I keot all his cards he made and sent me telling me how much he loved me and thankful for all I did for him...sadly he couldnt kick the drugs even though he tried so hard to but I know hes in a better place with the Lord

This song always makes me cry . Makes me think of my mom and my childhood and about my own sons … and what my mom went through to drag me through all the years of debilitating severe childhood depression I suffered …. Her life was getting me through mine . Being a wild child or having an addiction isn’t the only way we take years off a good Mama’s life .
