Here is my interpretation of Dream Awake by Northlane.
Mixed it up a little bit, pretty sneak.
I might get a bit excited at points.

I obviously can't speak for the band, but I'd say they picked him because he didn't sing the song exactly how Adrian did. He made it his own. I don't think they were looking for the best copy cat.

I am revisiting this four years later, simply because I love that clean vocal run (“wake up from the nightmare and become the dream”). I’ll never forget the first time that I heard it, as I instantly knew that this vocal style was going to launch Northlane into the stratosphere. Node is one of my favorite albums to come out in the past ten years. I can’t imagine anyone else singing/screaming on it. Peace and respect. ✌🏻✊🏻🙏🏻

Why are people coming here to poke shit at Marcus. He worked super hard for this, and he continues to work hard for this band. Give the guy some respect. You can't just pick out a singer who best matches Adrian, the band can't go back that easily. He loves what he does, and Northlane has changed. For some, not in the best way, move on. For others, like me, it's just like finding a whole new amazing band.

This is a good lesson everyone. His energy is what got him the role. Sure he sings pretty well here but the performance vocal wise is very similar to many of the other auditions. His energy is what was unmatched! A man can always improve vocally, but someone's natural energy typically remains constant. The Northlane boys saw that in him and knew he would be a perfect fit. Keep your energy high everyone!!

Yo no joke. I was listening to the original song and thought “man I want to listen to the Marcus version” so I stopped the song and came to this video. I was watching and getting really into it. Then finally at the 2:03 mark I closed my phone to set it down so I could drive. The song stopped because my phone doesn’t run KZbin audio without the screen being on. So I clicked the screen on immediately after I closed out of it and the original song on my iTunes started playing EXACTLY where the KZbin video got cut off. It was a seamless transition where only a split second was lost between the two songs. That tripped me out

I haven't been too into hardcore music for a while but I remember when you just joined Northlane and everyone was super against it, oddly enough I recall Lukas becoming the new vocalist of VoM as well and it's safe to say that people dislike change. In my opinion, both of you are better than the original vocalist once you took time to get comfortable with the band. All I can say is keep your head up and great things will continue to come your way. Love the new music and will continue to support you and the rest of the band!

First time stumbling across this. Been a fan of Northlane for quite some time, and was honestly a little unsure of how I felt about the addition of Marcus for a brief period. Now however, it's very clear to me how talented he is, and how perfectly he fits into the band and their new direction. It's exactly what Northlane needed to break through the barrier and reach a much bigger audience while still retaining the vibe and essence that was, is, and will always be Northlane.
