@Kenny Perez See whilst I agree Retail employees are largely underpaid, I don’t agree that it means they can’t take pride in the service that they as individuals deliver. When I worked in retail I got paid a tiny wage but I always went out of my way to deliver great customer service to customers, because I wanted people to think I was great at my job and enjoy their interaction with me. This is a trait that I have carried on throughout my career and has transferred time and time again :).

When I was a kid in the 1970s and 80s, you usually went to a shoe store to buy shoes, i.e. Kinney's and Tom McCann. There were actual shoe salesman who would do what this gentlman does. I miss that. Very relaxing, and now I want my very own pair of Cheaney shoes! $$$.

Shoes are a complex subject matter, a normal joe can not be expected to service themselves when buying a pair of shoes that will fit the way they are supposed to. This isn't like buying a loaf of bread! Retail has gone down in quality--and is now the domain of young women who don't know the products they are selling like this gentleman does. And I don't say that to offend because how can they be expected to know?

As has been said in the numerous comments below this Man befits the art of providing a traditional and professional customer experience. I see people happy to pay several hundred pounds for so called designer products be it shoes or clothes by mainly kids who have not been either properly shown or trained in how to treat the customer correctly because they know the customer is going to buy the item regardless. I appreciate you pay’s your money and take your choice but for me this is the kind of service I appreciate when buying a quality sartorial piece or any high value item. It’s what used to know as good old fashioned customer service which sadly is a rare thing these days.
