I found the broth to have more oil and be sweeter, as well as, no lemongrass flavor, but this is still a bun bo hue which can be enjoyed if it tailors to your taste. Rich with meat, and the condiments of lemongrass, mam rouc, and pickled shallots were some of the best part of this noodle dish. Of course the xi quach is amazing and overall a good bowl of noodles

Càng Ghẹ Tây Đô- Only a month old, but I was happy to get here to support this brother and sister team from Ca Mau. Selling crab legs with a variety of sauces and for an unbelievably cheap price. The sauces were not my favorite but for such a cheap price, I was just super happy to be eating some crabs!

Hey max! So...are many spicies of salt water crabs, “ghẹ” is one of them. That means, there are salt water “cua” too. Blue crabs are “ghẹ”. Notice they are pointed both ends.

Cua are the regular dark green crabs from the Pacific ocean . You can find them , not only in Asia , but also in North America ( Washington , California , British Columbia -Canada etc...) . Ghe are another variety of crabs , also from the sea , but they are smaller than Cua and their shell is thinner , softer and has a different colour with white or brown spots . The crabs from the rivers or rice fields are called Cua Dong . They are tiny ( same size as the Ba Khia ) and used only to make Bun Riêu or Lâu Riêu

Yes they call it pomegranate because it looks like it. But the crunch inside is water chestnut rolled in tapioca, dropped in boiled water and when they are done being cooked, they float. The colour pink colour traditional is from beet juice but nowadays either food colour or flavor drops

I am impressed that you can eat mam ruot and spicy hot sauce. $1.50 for crab legs. That is such a crazy price because in the US seafood is expensive through I live in Seattle, Washington seafoods here are fresh and much cheaper than most the the states. Good job of clearly describing the taste of each food. I am so jealous that you live in VN, enjoy cheap food and have fun. I was planning to go back to VN for 1 month to celebrate New Year but due to pandemic I can not go. Hope to go next year.
