i got a lower parts kit from them and either the hammer or the disconnect is cut just a little to short because when i check the trigger and hold it back, the hammer does not connect and lock again, meaning it will double fire...they are sending out a FCG to me, after sending another hammer that did not resolve the issue. I'm working on building my second AR for personal defense. At my age, and being on a limited income, I have limited ability to shoot a lot. I'm thrilled with 2-3 inch groups and that's plenty good for self defense. Most inexpensive AR rifles will usually out perform the "average Joe". I'll probably get a lot of blowback on that, but I believe that's an honest statement.

My first build was an Anderson lower, with an Anderson upper, with Anderson 18’’ socom heavy barrel. Has m4 deed Ramps, With carbine length system. Gun shoots right at 1.5 moa averages all day long. It is chrome lined, best part was got it on sale for $100 bucks. Same price I paid for my 16’’ m4 profile barrel. (2nd build) Second favorite thing about it, the heavier 2 in longer barrel is only 0.6 lb heavier than the m4 style barrel most ppl have. Can’t even really tell the difference handling it. Only on scales. Maybe I’m biased because I’m from KY, and they are based out of northern KY. But for the price, function, durability, longevity, I’ll take Anderson all day on budget builds. Now I am running a Gisselle 2 stage on that 18’’ gun. With free float Handguard

A friend of mine had a 14.5" Anderson Arms Barrel which had extraction issues. The cartridge would insert and extract fine without firing, but after firing the case would get stuck and had to be knocked out. Both brass and steel cased ammo had issues. I bought it off him, took a 9.5mm drill bit and enlarged the neck, then lapped it with a rubber polisher, and it worked great. It was getting roughly 2 MoA on M193, which is consistent with this test. Set up was 14.5" carbine setup with non-freefloat KAC RIS and vortex strikefire. Not a bad barrel, but did get one bad egg.

That's a legitimate point. When a manufacturer claims that their parts have been tested in some way (HPT, MPI, air gauged, etc.), it could mean every single one or it could mean a sample from each batch. The actual part you purchased may not have been tested even though it says it is.

They shipped out a 10.5' 223 wylde barrel to me, and according to UPS, the packaging was faulty and the barrel was lost out of the package. I contacted, well tried to contact BCA, and for 5 days, couldn't get in touch with anybody on the phone, get a response to my IM's on Facebook, and got no response from the emails I sent. I was about to put in a request to stop payment with my credit card company, and I finally got an email response. But it was not telling that they would handle the replacement getting shipped out, instead, it was telling me that I needed to contact their warranty department. Well, another 4 days go by and finally I got an email saying that they were going to process my order again. I didn't get the barrel for almost a month. So, I have switched over to Davidson Defense for my barrel purchases. So far, so good...

Stephen Maurer The barrel needs a .750 gas block, and I always prefer steel over aluminum gas blocks so the expansion is the same rate as the barrel. That YHM one should work fine as long as you align it properly and can keep it tight. In theory I don't think those two piece clamp style gas blocks are quite as secure as other styles, but I have used the RRA version of that same block without any problems. Thanks for watching!

THis video is a prime example of having realistic expectations. The 1 M.O.A. standard that many shooters expect isnt a realistic expectation at this price point. Cant you experience 1 MOA? Absolutely, but there will need to be an investment to find the combination that works best with this Barrel. You pay for Precision and Longevity, this barrel offers capability, and doesnt focus on being strong in any one category. 3 M.O.A. is combat effective, and let's face it, most owners arent using these for combat.

Some people does a cold barrel zero depending on if they want to hit the first shot, then wait till barrel gets cold to take another shot. Others prefer to shoot and hit without waiting for barrel to cool off, so they do a warm barrel zero. Personally I always do warm barrel zero. @@podmonkey2501 Oh I don't know about that, depends on what you consider accurate or precision I guess. Most of the newer budget bolt guns will do 1.5 inches at 100 yards if you find a load they like. Even some of the rimfires are pretty darn accurate. Bolt guns get expensive when you try to get consistant 1 inch or under groups. I would say a lot of people just don't shoot that well to begin with so it isn't that much of a concern, or shouldn't be at least.

There are quiet a few factors that make up the profit margin that’s found on just about any manufactured item. Some of the comments about the price difference are pretty accurate here - i.e. marketing, even the name brand. But what I have seen across my years of building AR’s using parts from Anderson to Noveske are that while the guys who view Anderson as junk do so out of mostly ignorance, MANY of the budget minded people only view the difference in price because of the brand name and taking nothing else into consideration. That’s done out of ignorance as well.

A good rifle (in this day an age) will feed both brass and steel reliably. Also, great review man! I think part of the reason guns and their parts have been getting more expensive lately is because people cling to the "You get what you pay for" mentality so much. Ex. I got the tool craft black nitride BCG for around $65 and have never had an issue with extraction or light primer strikes or feeding. A guy who walked into the gun store had a $150-$200 BCG and his rifle was not extracting cases when cycling and causing jams. It was weird, if he manually pulled the charging handle back, it pulled the case out, but if he just fired it, it would jam! Anyone have any idea what that might be?

If you properly break in that Anderson barrels the accuracy goes up. I was hitting broom sticks @ 80ft with my Anderson barrel. 3 broom sticks 4 rounds iron sights. 1700 rds no issues. Anderson manufacturing keeps it honest with the American consumers. Great quality and great prices.

BCA makes great barrels for insane prices! Also, most people don’t know or realize that they also have LIFETIME Warranty! They will replace their products, no questions asked! That is what matters! As a professional mechanic, that is why 99% of MY tools were Craftsman and NOT SnapOn! SnapOn would NOT warranty their tools, “no questions asked” and actually REJECTED my claims, both times I tried replacing a broken tool, for stupid and incorrect reasons! BCA is the “Craftsman” of barrels, uppers and other parts they make!

I just went through the barrel company dilemma. I would pay as much as Ballistic Advantage or Rosco charges but I wanted to do an M4gery and was looking at pinned FSB barrels. DSArms had one for $165. Other companies had identical barrels for $250+. I won’t spend needless money but I also won’t cut corners. Ended up ordering the dsarms barrel. We will see how it goes. I expect a good barrel.

I ordered that same DSA barrel a couple months ago and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I think it's awesome that they're offering a barrel already pinned and welded, but they went a bit longer than they needed to. I haven't measured it yet, but comparing with my colt 14.5 with pinned BCM A2X, the DSA is about 1/2 longer overall. So I'd say it gives you more like a 16.5" finished barrel length. Still looks waaaay more correct than a 16 inch barrel with carbine length handguards!

I own an RF85 version of the AM15. It shoots better than any other AR15 I have shot. 3 shot groups at 100 yards average half an inch. Every round touches the other.

Thanks for the review. My results were similar, although I didn't test as thoroughly as you did with ammo types. However, this barrel for me was more expensive when I bought it back in middle of 2016, I payed $79.99 on Brownells. I also bought an AR-Stoner from Midway USA that cost me $71.99 late 2016, similar specs and similar results. It can still hit a torso-sized steel plate at 300 yards with TulAmmo .223 Rem 55gr every time, all the time. Not bad if you're looking for an economic combat accurate barrel.

Well I meant to post this in a reply to a person talking about their preference to use BCM barrels due to their accuracy, but thanks to KZbin I have no idea where that post went. Lol. Anyway, I’ve owned a few varying lengths of BCM barrels and not a single BCM barrel I’ve owned came really close to the level of accuracy I got from my BA Hanson barrels. As accurate as my BA Hanson barrels have been, when I compare them to the same length Noveske, my Noveske barrels are more accurate (same ammo) than my BA Hanson barrels (not by a lot though) All that said I won’t ever hate on Anderson, because my first several AR builds were on Anderson receiver sets and during that time I did run into a couple of quality issues that required a return or my file, but overall they were GTG. These days I use Aero pretty much exclusively, unless I’m doing something special for someone who wants all Noveske or SOLGW. All that said, those out of spec parts I got from Anderson are tied to some of the cost difference we see between them and other companies. For example, Company A performs QC on 10/10 barrels or parts and Company B performs QC on 5/10 barrels (or parts) You pay for that additional quality control. It requires manpower and time to perform those WC inspections. Does it mean Company A’s parts are better than Company B’s? Not necessarily, but it does typically mean that fewer out of spec parts will be on the market and that does sway opinion in the shooter community. So thats’s partly a reason for the delta in cost. Yes there are marketing costs rolled into pricing, as well as other factors that are in the markup of a lower for example that uses the same bar stock across the different manufacturer’s, who probably use the same or similar CNC machines and similar if not the processes to finish the parts. That’s my take on it, I see this in the many manufacturing industries that I work in, so it’s not isolated to the firearm industry. Also, I don’t really build to the “good enough” mentality. I don’t for a second think a bad guy is going to give a flip whether he’s been shot with a sub MOA rifle or not. I may however want to have that level of accuracy. That’s what I want for my builds. Bottom line though is that people should use what works for them. If Anderson or PSA or BCM or Aero gives you the confidence you need in your weapon, or you just like supporting whatever company, then rock steady and roll ready.

This function test is yet another example of how low cost doesn't always mean low quality. I personally don't view the anderson barrel as being too cheap, i see many of the other barrel manufacturers as simply being "just too expensive." The AR-15 is the small block chevy of the gun world these days and has been for many years now. With all of the countless companies out there building anything and everything for the AR's, there is no reason at all why high quality/low cost parts should be uncommon. As time goes on and these parts continue to be produced by the tens of millions - the costs should continue to drop exponetionially. Many companies simply will not survive their enormous amount of competitors unless they can build good parts that are affordable. They seem to be doing just that these days!

I recently purchased my 1st Anderson lower Receiver last week and recently had a CMC lower parts kit delivered to me.I have the rest of my .224Valkrie upper built and decided to cheat with a Complete lower and since even at my age im not really all that Exp. with AR 15 platforms.Other then shooting them and running a clothe thru the barrel. If i had a dirty enough BCG i would have to look up a video on youtube to see how to break one down, clean it and reassemble it?Since im looking up different videos about Anderson(since i maid my 1st lower) ever from Anderson and want to start getting into building long guns VS purchasing them already built. The only thing i disagree with you on is the chrome lining.I feel no matter what there should be chrome so that the barrel lasts way longer and can be past down to family members(if legal) in your state.Well i can say i enjoyed this video so much i subed your channel and hit the bell! thanks

I'm a bolt action shooter so I am struggling to understand the inaccuracy of these ARs. I group quarter and silver dollar groups at 200 and 300 yards respectively. Though my rifles are mostly Remington model 700s which is known to be a real tack driver. Does the semi-auto action really reduce accuracy by over 100%?
@limasierraone71074 жыл бұрын
Pretty much anything with moving parts will be less accurate than a bolt gun.
