I bought the similar Bissell Spot Clean Pro just before this came on the market. Great little machine, although I wish it had the self clean feature of the Vax. As you showed, it's unbelievable how much dirt you can extract from seats and mats!

Still feel these are great but expensive. Have a bulky vax machine the parents bought which does the job. You don't realise how much dirt is hidden in the interior. Cleaned the seats on my VW UP and it turned the cleaning solution black

Yeah I get what you mean. It's cheap comparatively to other machines but they still are a pretty big investment. It's perfect if you can borrow one as it doesn't need doing too often

Best way to do this is to put the solution in a spray bottle and use the vax to clean the solution out of the carpet/material.

Technically, these are really only spot cleaners, but they do save getting out the larger types or using the more expensive commercial types for just car seats or mats. There are various brands that do similar jobs, but I like the look of the self clean function and the removable clear head component. Keep up with the content.

I purchased one of these recently and find it much easier to use than my older large upright vax. Great value for money. Had one snag my power button was faulty but vax replaced and new unit is great so far. I agree about not using the solution in the system especially what vax provide. Great video.

The drill brush method seems to be more effective and the one that most detailers I’ve seen on KZbin employ. This machine also seems to be comparable to the Bissell Spot Clean , a very popular machine. My antedote for stains and dirt is to buy a car with leather upholstery. I know I sound bougie, but for me it’s worth it.

I use an extractor twice a year on my upholstery, and also clean the seats by hand using APC and a damp microfiber. I do this as and when needed In-between extractions. They're not necessary, but for deep cleaning, they make life a lot easier.

Another great review and video, great 10 minutes of a relax :) i like that your reviews are filled with user perspective views, not just singing praises,also pointing out downsides. Just wondering, isn't the 2nd option of using this the same as if you would use a wet vacuum cleaner? Of course you would need to wet the fabrics with water with another sprayer. Thx :)

Doing a very amateur interior clean on my car, for the dashboard and plastics, I always use an anti static foam cleanser from the lines of Electrolube or whatever Tool Station happens to have in stock. Had some marks on passenger seat and thought I’d try spraying lots of the foam cleanser on it, and then used my steam cleaner with brush attachment to agitate it and it did look a lot better. I’ve seen another popular KZbinr sometimes do a similar method but either brushing an interior cleaning solution in with a steam brush and they also seem to get good results l, on one, you can see the dirt rising to the top. Being a new subscriber I was going to ask you about interior cleans lol

May I (being German) quote King Charles III here? "Dear, oh dear!" Again: This is very useful consumer advice - well, not for "average buyer", but for OCDs. I was in the same regime: Spray, brush or drill-brush, tap dry with a towel. thought, I did well by doing so. Obviously not. Thank god it's christmas soon and my wife will get the answer to "what's Your wish" fast. Seriously: one aspect needs to be highlighted: Heather always demonstrates, that moving slowly with whatever tool is in use enables best results. Be it a washmitt or an extractor or whatever else.

I recommend adding an acid conditioner for textiles to the water (I use Chemspec - All Fiber Textile Rinse), it makes textiles softer and helps to remove all the alkaline components left after APC, which in the future reduces textile contamination.

I know the problem with "dried soap" left in the seats/carpets/mats. When dried up I use a soft brush to loosen up the residue, and then vacuum it thoroughly.

Good video! I agree with the pre-treat and drill brush method, although I tend to use Surfex HD personally. I find it's the magic liquid and I've yet to find anything it can't shift. Extractors themselves are great, and you can find many uses for them. I also use mine to keep the stair carpet clean and fresh and to clean out the filter, salt reservoir and spray arms on my dishwasher.

Thanks for the video, the Vax cleaner seems to be a nice bit of kit which is ideal for cleaning cars. My mum has a full blown upright cleaner and that does a very good job of cleaning her carpets. I look forward to some more tips/advice.

Excellent review Heather a have a vax carpet cleaner I use that and not long ago I got the karcher sc3 tested it out on the seats and was very impressed with the results but I do agree this way is the best is to wet vac and extract 👍

Did I enjoy this video, you ask? No. I bloody loved it! I went thru the same learning process with my Bissell I bought. I've used it on many things now. I find Surfex HD to a 3-5% dilution works perfectly as a presoak and get hte white dril brush on it. Again I found the same as you. Use clean water in the tank. I found their own cleaner solution was really difficult to get it all out...........and it made the material feel odd. I've got a backlog of videos for my new channel but not had the time to edit anything yet. But a car that hadn't been washed for six years and a civic type r where what came out of the interior could only be described as ghastly, to name but two. Really good tips here that transalate across vacs it seems, and one thing yours has that mine doesn't is the self clean. The hose on mine is also at the back side not the front so you lose about 30cm of "already not long enough" when trying ot use it. Its ruddy good though. I'm also a fan on the powerwash method for those really grimy ones.

I have the newer version of this machine and it’s excellent. The filling and measuring problems you encountered have been fixed as you now fill from the bottom in a large opening. Great for home carpet spills too!

@@AutoCareHQ around 6 months ago, I checked and the version I purchased was Vax SpotWash Home Duo Spot Cleaner. It’s 30 GBP more expensive. You don’t get that self cleaning function however, but much easier to fill and measure.

I always just used the measurement on the bottle anyway. As even the bottle that Congress with the cleaner says to put 40ml per litre, and that doesn't match the fill lines on the side of the tank at all. So I think it's best to just use a measuring jug/spoon to get the ratio right for what the bottles say and then put it in the tank.

Does the clean tank clip into place as mine doesnt? Only bought it new yesterday? So if i move it its not secure into place it has a clip on it but it sits lower in the machine and doesnt clip into place

A good little machine that’s great for picking up pet spills etc…. But beware the trigger on the spray ends up sticking and constantly sprays . You have to strip and grease it and it still doesn’t work that well after. What a shame they just need to redesign it.

Thanks for watching :) I've not got any tricks I'm afraid except to just try and extract as much from the fabric as you possibly can. It usually takes about 1.5-2 hours for the seats to be completely dry unless its super cold so I normally just do it before the rest of the interior/ exterior and it's not too much of a problem

Just got mine today and straight out the box the machine is leaking from the base on the clean side, the clean tank is fine and does not leak, but the machine does when the tank is installed. Is this normal?

Nope it definitely shouldn't be leaking. If the tank is definitely fitted securely in place then I'd contact Vax and see if they can advise/ replace it

Excellent informative video. Just one small criticism, you shouldn't put the dirty water with detergent down the surface water drain it should go down the toilet.

Shouldn’t tip into gutter drains. They soak away to the ground. Tip into the bog and send the soap to treatment plant.

No way should you use a pressure washer on car mats, , Pressure washer should only be used on concrete or steel, All you do is destroy the fabric.. Best thing to use is the rubber pad of an electric sander, Plenty of videos on KZbin
