wish you could show how you run the cable through your fire wall, that the biggest challenge with the 12v system. but thank you for sharing a simple steup. legend

Unfortunately I put it all in without my camera gear! But we used some wire to thread it through a pre existing spot. Thanks for watching!

Hi, why not just connect to a secondary battery? Without the link that's in & on the one in the hood?

Hi Michael Thanks for watching and subscribing! Having them connected to each other means when the engine runs (main battery) it charges the second battery. Having the isolator on the main battery means as soon as the car is turned off, the second battery kicks in and is used for power (car fridge etc). That way you always know the car will start when you turn the ignition. Hopefully that answers your question.

how much is the isolator what brand?

I buy everything through 4WD supacentre - nothing fancy but it’s all a good price and I find everything works well!

What kind of battery do are you using?
@DAWNadventures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Julian! It’s just a relatively cheap one from Kings - has worked well though! It’s AGM (about 120 AH I think) - I would probably go lithium next time so it’s not so heavy!! I’ve got it in a battery box, I like the box!!

@@DAWNadventures Thanks for the info. I'm with you on Lithium, its just not as cheap as a AGM though.
