I almost didn't upload this video. I'm self-conscious that I said "Ok" way too often and used it to start most of my dialogue...at the time of filming I didn't realize I was saying it quite so often. Anyway, it is what it is and I'm not going to remake this video, and as much as I don't like to hear myself, videos without talking are mostly a waste of time.

@@MrMann703 I'm glad you liked the video. I haven't looked at the prices since I bought this unit a year ago, I imagine they are not as cheap as they use to be...but compared to other units, they are good value for money. One tip which may not be so important with large arrows, in really bright sunshine it sometimes doesn't see small bullets until you shade the unit from the sun.

I bought one of these after watching your video & it working with .177 air rifle 👍, my version does work in mps & fps, When the display starts counting, press & hold the button, (display stops at 6) release button (display shows nps) short press button once, (display shows fps) press & hold button, (led flashes red twice then changes to green) release button (display counts to 9 then shows su & beeps) your in fps mode you can also enter pellet weight to measure muzzle energy, when the display shows SU, short press the button, (display shows 0.0 ) weight is set by short pressing button to advance the weight, you have to set the weight higher than your pellet weight, then reduce it by pressing the button just long enough for the led to flash twice, say you want 4.5g set it to 5g with single short presses then reduce it by pressing the button 5 times, each time allowing the led to flash twice.

to set the unit into FPS, when you power on the unit and it is count 1111, 2222, 3333 etc. press the set button while it is counting and it will go into the settings. then press the set button 1 time and let go. it will change to FPS. then hold the set button for 3 seconds till the LED turns green. now you are in FPS. you are holding the se button to long and that's way it will not change to FPS. If you watch the LED it will change colors, on your unit it will start as green and after 3 seconds it will turn red. when it goes red then let go the set button
@jeffdeschamps90298 ай бұрын
You have to push on button during the countdown after the "ON" have been displayed. If you push on it during 1111 to 5555 you access to the MPS/FPS setting and you just have to press a bit longer after you choose the right unit in order to store it (until the red led is brighting). If you press the button after 6666, you access to the weight (first - short press increase of 1g - long press decrease of 0.1g - very long press store it and pass to caliber setting and there the same short press to increase of 1mm - long press to decrease of 0,1mm - very long press to store it and restart) and caliber settings.

When it says FPS hold the button until the light turns red and let go. It'll switch over to FPS. When you power it off you have to set it to FPS all over again.
@timarulad3 жыл бұрын
I've tried many different things since making this video, including your suggestion of holding the button when it displays FPS until the light turns red and letting go...but that gives me even lower readings (more than twice as low as the m/s readings). I also tried holding the button after the unit had "booted up" and there seemed to be some numbers that you can change by pressing and holding the button, like it's a way of calibrating the unit, but afterward the speed readings remain around the same as before. It was a cheap unit, so maybe some features weren't included or they used a different processor chip.....given the current shortage of chips, this wouldn't surprise me, and the shortage might be the reason why the price has recently increased a lot for this unit.

@@timarulad When you turn the machine on it will always revert to MPS. Around the 2:00 mark of the video you did the correct procedure to change it to fps. Pressing and holding the button will then reset it and it will then display the results in fps. If you turn it off and on again with the switch (like you did in the video it will switch back to mps). I like to operate it in fps, so it is bothersome though to have to do this everytime you turn it on.

Just bought one.... no instructions but have got this far after two days: House lighting can cause random triggering of display I guess same for sunlight affecting infra-red detection but as for the rest I am amazed it works fine and even has memory. Result it's a bargain. The way I used mine is bellow, Used and OK to date. Choice of Meters or Feet per second, and pellet weight (grain). Switch on. Chronograph boots up. The display runs, press & hold button until sytem run is completed. The run will end and display, 6. Release button. Displays mps. (If you require MPS, Press & hold button for 3 seconds.) Short press button once. Displays fps. Press & hold button for 3 seconds. Release button. Led flashes red twice then Displays fps. Display runs to 9 then shows su (input pellet weight if wanted) and beeps. You are now in fps mode. Display shows - - and awaits pellets to be shot through detectors. Pellet passes are indicated by two beeps. Display shows speed of pellet. Display returns to - - and is wating more shots or quick press of button to show speeds detected so far this session, and retained in memory.

Mine has been working great. I accidentally shot it once and destroyed the on off button, very easy to replace. also you should keep the bottom row of LED receivers because it will have a glitch and measure ghost shots. I clean mine with compressed air from my compressor.

Thanks for watching my video. I don't have another chronograph to compare it against. Many years ago I borrowed one from a friend, it was a Caldwell, I only had the .22lr and .303 British back then. The .22lr did read around the same speed as I'm reading now and the .303 was slower, however that was with different ammo. My 6.5 Creedmoor ammo has a speed of 2,820fps written on the box for a 24" barrel, I got 2,778fps with a 22" barrel, so that seems about right.

@joerooney3175 Жыл бұрын
I see that the device jumps when using the high-power rounds. I am assuming that is because you are using the same bench as a rest for both the rifle and meter, is that true? I am thinking that accuracy may be affected by that jump and that maybe not shooting from the same bench may help get the most accurate measurement. I sure do hope you will respond to this thought.
