This might well be my favorite of your builds. I absolutely love the reverse dingle - or whatever it's called. I've always wanted to do that. The low key mellow vibe of your videos are refreshing every time. Thanks for being a part of this cheap bike thing, and opening it up to the masses. my 96 rocky mountain was dingle speed shifting the triple with a golden Arrow 105 short cage. it's on my CBBO bike now. this build is in my tops as it's still cheap and something any one of us can do. many didn't seem to understand and built too nice of bike.. which I've got two nice bikes in the same window.. within the total budget.. including my failure Nishiki

Oo nice! With a golden arrow shifter too?! I’d like to see that, don’t know if I stumbled across it on Instagram? What’s your username? Exactly what I was aiming for, glad you liked the build! Just saw from Ali Clarkson the other day, if you remove the spring for the derailleur hanger bolt and replace it with a few washers you can lock out the mech from swinging up and down and clanking.

Haha I’ve been happy with them in the past, too! It’s dependable and just beautiful enough to not look out of place on a nice frame set. What’s the bike your rx100 set is on? I have a few road bikes coming up of varying age/spec 😁

Not sure what he's using, but I've always used isopropyl alcohol. It works great and dries fast with no residue.

Good for cassettes or things that can be tedious to clean, but other than that I’m pretty happy to scrub away 👌

it just means the tube has a varying wall thickness, but by varying the outer diameter and keeping the internal constant. Butting normally changes the inner diameter and keep the outer diameter constant. Outer butting's usually done on seat tubes, where the internal diameter has to be constant for a good fit against the seatpost.

@@oreocarlton3343 outer butting should result in a tube that's technically less stiff than an inner butted one, but whether you'd be able to feel the difference on the bike, I'm not sure
