@@mohitme1234 I've had a 2003 Z4 for the last 7 years. Things to look out for is the steering rack can get sticky in high temps on the early models. I believe they fixed it with the 2005-6 models. Also general BMW things so check the suspension bushings as they tend to wear out and make sure the windows and convertible top is still functioning, sometimes people leave them parked under trees for long periods of time and can get the drain holes clogged which can lead to problems. Other than that there's nothing else unique. Just general oil changes etc.

This is a comfort food type video that strikes that chord of classical romance and electric thrill. A slow waltz lost in her eyes while your heart beats faster by being near her. This is the kind of experience the automotive enthusiast desires, the sweep of the turn, the colors of the trees and the sound of the car pulling in air, snicking through the gears...smile after wonderful smile. Thank you gentlemen...Mississippi River Road, here I come!

Eight years ago I bought a perfect 2005 987 S with 6300 miles on it as a bulletproof daily driver. A former friend who thought he knew cars didn't think I should buy it since I'd never driven one, but your video of it introduced me to your channel and confirmed what I knew, and also confirmed what I was going to buy just before I signed on the line. Four years ago my girlfriend, who the same former friend who unfortunately said I should stay away from and who was probably right, went on the best road trip we ever took with that car on a four day loop along Hwy 550 to Telluride. That was indeed the best car, or type of car, imaginable for that drive. She, the friend and the Porsche are gone but Everyday Driver made the amazing memory possible. Thanks.

It’s all about the experience. Driving becomes not only fun but satisfying. Sports convertibles are true mood twisters, they bring together nature and machines and fusion them in your body: eyes and hands. Feeling change your mindset. I just came up to your channel when recently bought a z3 after thoughts and doubts… but after tried it for 6 months I realized it was the perfect choice and this series of videos just confirm that. Keep sharing, you really transmit that behind doubts there are discovery and joy.

Great road. The ride from Silverton to Durango is great too. I have ridden the full length on a Ducati motorcycle and was overwhelmed by both scenic grandeur and timor mortis. In a car you can't really appreciate the near vertical drops that are occasionally right at the no shoulder barrier free pavement's edge. Like cars, motorcycles tend to steer where you are looking, only more so. Being surrounded by that spectacular scenery felt like a trap. You are compelled to look, but if you look you die.

Great video … thank you for “doing.” I use this video and some others on KZbin (like super car devaluation tour - on “normal guy supercar” KZbin channel) when planning by late September 20 23 Colorado Rd. trip. Other than a little bit of construction (we were stopped at the first tunnel just South of Ouray for close to an hour), and bunched up traffic after the construction stops (I spent a lot of time in the left lane ;-) we had a terrific 10 days … beautiful sun shine and pleasant temperatures. Over 10 days we drove Manitou Springs to Aspen (via independence pass) and then to Ouray (via Blue mesa reservoir), then to Telluride (via Durango) and then back to Aspen (via the canyons to Gateway, and Grand Mesa scenic byway), then back over independence pass … Keep up the great work !!

I bought the SLK for 5 k but I have since spent 12k to sort it out, including a well-known issue of broken rusted subframe recently. I love ragtops, always have, and I've been on that stretch of road at least a dozen times, both ways. The vast majority of the time, it was on motorcycles. If you think convertibles are great on that road, try a two wheeler. Having said that, I made one trip, south bound, in a '94 T-Bird which made it a totally different experience and the one other time I drove it in a car, it was a 2004 Honda S2000. That's really the only way to go. I hit one section where I caught some rain. It was "so" nice to just raise the top, drive through, and drop it again on the other side. I don't regret any of the trips I made on my motorcycles, even those few times when it rained all the way through, but there's nothing like a convertible.

From your description of it, it sounds like the SLK drives very much like my wife's '02 E320. I've found that it is fairly capable on a twisty road, but not very engaging. The slap-stick automatic works once you realize you're gonna get the downshift about a second after you hit the lever, but it isn't as direct as a true manual. And the steering wheel tells you almost nothing. It's as if the car is saying, "Ja, I vill take you thru zis tvisty road qvickly, but you vill not enjoy it."

i like federal rt 50 from fallon NV to the border of Utah (the old pony express route) or get yourself a 4WD vehicle or motorcycle and try out the Burr Trail from the colorado river to Boulder, Ut. tonapah NV, to Caliente, NV is pretty wild and desolate too. if you want an interstate try I70 from its western end at I25 all the way to denver. not bad for an interstate. cedar city, UT to green river, UT via bryce canyon and hanksville ain't bad either. i'd say utah has more spectacular roads in the contiguous lower 48 than any other state i've ever been in.

It's hard to beat the memories of riding million dollar highway on my motorcycle in 2017. But as I age, and motorcycles are less and less a priority, perhaps it's time for me to get a convertible.
