Nice platinum age book, I had a Mutt and Jeff platinum age my Dad gave me that he got from a auction back in the early 1990s. Being a young guy in my early 20s I thought I would sell it and take that money to get comic books, now that I’m older I wish I kept it, but you live and you learn

You met both Spin & Marty??? You lucky fella!! Being born in 1965, Spin & Marty were way before my time, but I discovered them when Disney put out those Treasure edition of DVDs in those collectible tin boxes. I fell in love right away with everyone at the Triple R Ranch. I have only the first season and I've been hoping for a season 2 release ever since (not holding my breath for more obscure 50's Disney any time soon). Congrats on your first Platinum book in your collection. I must admit I know very little about this era.

The Platinum Age is an interesting one Rangersly ; it is an era that appreciated comic strips. Newspapers gained circulation when they added comic sections , a few popular comic strips received the honor of being hit songs such as "Barney Google With The Googly Eyes" , stage plays were produced based on comic strips such as "Krazy Kat" , "Mutt and Jeff" , " Maggie and Jiggs" (Bringing Up Father ) among others , a few became the first cos play participants that got press attention such as a costume party guest who dressed as " Mr Skygack From Mars" by A D Condo ; a single panel feature that was the first sci-fi comic strip ; it featured a Martian observing Earth customs who reported his interpretations to his people an approach Robin Williams used at the end of each Mock & Mindy episode. A few comic strip characters added slang phrases to American Culture. Of course some received Hollywood screen adaptations either live action or animated such as "Ella Cinders" , " The Katzenjammer Kids" , " Toonerville Trolley" among others. Book Collections such as this one on screen , not to mention the merchandising , were very popular. What the Super Hero comic books did for the Golden Age the Platinum Age comic strips did likewise for the 'teens - mid 1930s ; made themselves undeniably acknowledged as a profitable publishing presence.

Wow, Little Fellers ! I have heard of that, it was a newspaper strip , right ? You got it for a little over 8 dollars including shipping ? Great job ! That is wild ! My Mom was 2 years old in 1929 ! I can't believe she is still with me . I make sure I live in the moment, spend quality time with her, so take care , and thanks for sharing. PS hope your Mom is doing well today !

Awesome job on cleaning the book 👊 Salute to all the Reg'lar Fellers out there 🫡, loved the opening paragraph. This was a great video Rob, you would make some nice "Wonderful World of Disney" Sunday videos based on what you probably have in your collection. Don't worry about the comics you missed out on, we know those deals are awesome, but they will come around again. Take care Triple C ✌️

🤓As a looong time comic strip fan ( first and foremost since childhood) your RF book is 👍! I have , somewhere , a Little Orphan Annie book. I have a couple of 1920s newspaper comic sections with one of them featuring RF. As a Spin & Marty fan you probably also have the Dell 4 Color issues featuring them. You're thinking of former Mouseketeer Don Grady who played the 2nd oldest brother on My Three Sons.
