I notice that y'all are from Oklahoma, too! I have the same engine and transmission in my 98 e320, and it's lasted 311k miles and counting - I am just now replacing its original water pump. I do oil changes every 10k miles, and am getting ready to do my spark plugs and valve gasket seals. Head gasket and timing chain still seem to be in great shape. I've only had limp mode once or twice, and only once (~120k miles) did it actually last more than turning the engine off and on again. I find that it might be related to the fuel/air system, as it has mainly happened when I've driven the car especially hard (revving spiritedly onto on-ramps), and usually goes away after turning it off and on again. Conductor plate and transmission solenoid - couple hour job. That thing will run in spite of you. "This engine was built with the mechanic in mind"

You should have changed that fuel filter while you were under there, only $20 on Amazon. When you buy a pump from auto stores the warranty is void if you dont change filter... it insures pump isnt working too hard and lasts. Just good practice to replace the filter everytime when pump is replaced.

14:22. A trick I always do. Have a bolt ready (within close reach) that is slightly bigger than the gas line. Wrap the threads with a little electrical tape to create a seal and it helps slip in easily. Twist the bolt in the line after you remove the gas line from the filter and you wont spill much gas at all. Love your channel.. im subscribed under another account. I do watch all commercials! Keep em coming!

Great one! Seems like those CROSSFIRES multiply like mice & rabbits! Anyway, great to see you and MIKE together and nice of you to get him drenched in gasoline! That pump didn't look that bad at all to change (surprisingly)! I really like those Crossfires since they came out. I would keep that one over your new vette. (YOU KNOW that vette they need to swap out for you before we ALL turn on all of them.) Randy, this was a really good video. Felt like I was there with you guys. Good luck going forward, MIKE too! The car is too small for a big guy like me, but it's packed full of thrills. I took an old man friend of mine out for a ride in one of these, and it seems like I had to fold him up to get him into the Crossfire. Talk about torque, I aimed the front wheels toward the street, and then I floored it. The car leaped into the street and left the house behind in a cloud of rubber smoke. It was such a kick hearing an old man scream like a high school girl.

The Mercedes M112 (3.2 liter V6) along with its M113 (V8) counterpart are one of the most bulletproof engines. I actually have a ML500 with the M113 and only bad thing about it is that it’s got a Valve Cover leak other than that gas mileage is actually pretty excellent motor

Ford did that two plugs a cylinder to. This was a eye catching car but when I worked at the Chrysler dealership these cars where junk. All 4 we sold before I left and went back on the road where in the shop for trans think it was electrical and there was even a fuel recall. I remember doing the P.D.I on one and was a nice car to drive but to fix one one tech could fix as took a special class to do anything to it. Remember when these came out lost interest quick the viper was so much better and if this challenger comes thru I'll have a new toy three pickups a Thunderbird have to fix the deer damage on (they never have insurance information), a 70s Beatle and bus, then the elcomino and a 2012 abarth. Looking at a new 2016 challenger and if they come to my price I'd be happy.

I love my Crossfire only thing I hate is ,If you break a key or loose one they are hard or very expensive to replace , many times the cost of the car. I had to take the transponder chip out of one of my good keys and attach it to the transponder ring so both my flip keys or any cut key will start the car and the weird thing is the remotes will not work to lock of unlock the car it has to set for 20 minutes before the flip key remote will work so I use the key to lock the door but the hatch and passenger door will not lock with the key . It must be a safety thing that the transponder chip is inside the car at all times and it must set to awhile to have it recognize the flip key remote I wish there was an easy cheap fix those who have only key if you loose it your screwed !!! I watch Monkey Wrench Mike I did get my air bag light to work again with a cheap scanner I didn't need the expensive scanner !!! I love my Blaze Red Crossfire hard top I paid $1700 with a $1300 paint job and I did all the work to fix several things. I even have the dash lights that change color and this summer I'm gonna change out the radio plus a couple other things in the spring like change out the throttle body to the Mercedes V8 I have all the parts . My ash tray now pops out all the time I gotta take it out and repair it . Mine is a stick she runs great and I did rebadge my Cross fire with a Big Mercedes badge in the grill and on the rear with Mercedes decals on the side I also have Ford spinners with Mercedes badges in the spinners I did the LED head lights and LED tail lights which modernize the car . I know how to keep the moisture out of the headlights I have a secret LOLOL I did the hood and hatch struts and I did lower bumpers scoops my car does stick out in the crowd of SUV's and look alike cars now on the road today. My car does get a lot of attention no one knows what it is. I have been asked is this a European Car I say yes.. Hope you guys Do more Crossfire stuff. I don't do youtube stuff cause I don't know how . I wish I could have my car reviewed.!! I live in Maryland . I also Have a 2011 Mustang made in to a 2013-14 Cobra tribute look alike in Kona Blue.. I have to replace the hood and front bumper and the Xenon headlights all ready to be put on in Spring I don't a garage.

I will attest to that outside of the unique Crossfire-y problems like the RCM and sticky key. I've literally had one and drove it over 250,000 mi with no issue. Same alternator, same starter... However the reason watching this video is because I believe the fuel pump is on the way out 🤣

If that car would have had an automatic transmission, I might have been interested in it, but then again, I live in ILLannoy, and traveling over 1000 miles, or, paying delivery for one of those is not very realistic. Now if you were to come across a 1972 Grand Prix (maybe a 71, but no other years, and I really would prefer a 72) in really nice condition, we just might have to talk some business. You mentioned scanners in this video, and, I have a question for you about codes. I have a TOPDON OBDCAN Elite scanner, which is capable of reading ABS codes. The ABS and traction control lights are both on, on my 2012 Honda Crosstour, most of the time, they do occasionally shut off, together at the same time, for a few minutes, but then come back on, also at the same time, never flashing though. I am fairly certain that the issue is electrical because of what I just described with the idiot lights turning off and on. I scanned it and the code I got is B29FC which surprisingly is not in my scanner's database, and I can't find anything on the interwebs about it. I am hoping you might be able to help decipher the code for me.
