Westlake Services is an auto loan lender like Santander. Re: Your new idea for the channel, whatever makes you happy, it's YOUR channel. Most of your viewers have been here for a long time and have ridden through the different whims.. the repairing old cars from the 80's, buying classic muscle cars, going on road trips with MWM, the European phases, the truck phases, etc. Some people may get upset, but we're all human and need to do different things or we get burned out. Most of us are here for it, just for the love of God, don't transition into doing electric bikes! 😏😂

The plate readers on the repo trucks/spotters are actually a little more complex than you think. They don't just cruise waiting to get a repo ping, they actually store and upload not only the plate, but also the location the plate was scanned so if the car comes up for repossession later, then the tow company can actually input the plate into the database and get a GPS map of everywhere that plate was scanned so they can have a good idea of where it's been and where it's likely to be. So, yeah. The cameras actually have more functionality than you think.

Sorry to disagree with you about Kia/Hyndai. They take every excuse to deny engine warranty claims. A close friend, the dealership installed a used engine with a bad head gasket. Dealer says 1 quart of oil every 300 miles is normal oil use.

@@dweenmuse5765 boss I hear ya. Friend of mine bought a used 2019 Veloster. Had it less than a year and the engine went. Took it to a local Hyundai dealer and it sat for 4 months before they got to it. Then Hyundai would only cover 60% of the cost, so it took another $5800 to get the replacement engine in it. @@orman2222 brother I believe it. Even with their 100,000 mile warranty, it feels like they will try to find anything to weasel out of honoring it. Your friend was LUCKY, most people have to jump through hoops to get a new engine, prove maintenance intervals, etc. I had a 2023 Tuscon SEL with the convenience package. That free maintenance means an oil change every 7000-7500 miles, if you try to bring it in early like at 4000 they won't pay for it or do it, i used to change every 3500 so i paid for every other one myself! I never test drove it and my front rotors were out of true rand new, i had to call Hyundai and they opened up a 'case' to make a long story short i brought it to another dealer and they replaced the front rotors, some dealers SUCK and i gave tons on negative feedback on that dealer!!!! For some reason it had factory out of spec rotors, i never drove it over 75 and no panic stops, etc I noticed it driving it home from the dealer. I traded it for a 2023 RAM 1500 Classic Warlock, i don't miss the Tuscon, good for gas mileage that's it!

love to see you grab that rx350, my buddy says they go for well under 10 at auction, wanted to get one for my wife at some point. The only issue with them is look for an oil leak at the corner of the timing cover near the bottom, if its leaking bad, its an engine out job to replace the seals. The other issue is blend door actuators can require full dash removal if they are broken. Same engine as the v6 camry, v6 venza, and for a time a v6 rav4.

The 2013 Lexus 2GR FE engine is pretty bulletproof. The vehicle is a bit heavy, so it's slower than most cars with that 270hp engine. Figure 0-60 in 7, then finish the quarter mile in just over 15, doing 92mph. Don't drive like that, you might get 25mpg. The Elantra isn't very high up in the Hyundai line, but is a very sensible econocar that has evolved a lot since I bought a new 1992 Saturn SL2 instead of it. You know, like how a Corolla now is bigger and nicer than a Camry was back in the day.

The Toyota 2GR-FE is a great motor, but maintenance on it is a pain. Spark plugs replacement takes time. The timing chain cover tends to leak oil after 100k miles. Yeah, but you can get a Toyota or a Honda for the same money. It just might not be as fancy. No hate or nothing but it doesn’t make sense to buy a kid a $23,000 car for their first car. Yeah it has good warranty’s and all but i feel like a kids first car should be something cheaper, mainly so they actually learn how to drive first and maybe if they want learn how to do some basic maintenance. Which I’m not saying you can’t do all that on the Hyundai but price wise it just doesn’t make sense to me idk maybe I’m just goofy tho

That could be a repo from the dealership and it might have been one of their service loaners. They were poorly ran so was not surprised. In regards to Hyundai though, I was looking for a new SUV a few months ago and thoroughly researched and drove all the different makes and models. bought a Hyundai, drove the best, most features and outstanding warranty!

Hey Randy. Nice long video. Anyway, I hope you would still do this and make time for your family and health. My position about the plate readers could be a little flawed. If someone really wants to even repossession, they can just slap another license plate that is of the same make and similar model. I knew someone that had two vehicles that were nearly identical and only had one plate. That someone just swaps plates over to the vehicle being used.

@ AutoAuctionRebuilds Hey Randy, could you break down what the fees are on buying a car from the auction site? I looked at auto bid master and they wanted $1071 for a 275 bid... 308 auction fees..... 349 auto bid fee.... and then the transaction fee.... Is this normal or really high?

Enjoy the channel and very interested in your review of repos and other cars at COPART. I would also love to see the results- do you get the cars you identify and how much did it cost you. Like the concept. Keep it going.

I would definitely pick up the Hyundai because why not, if you can get a great deal on it, you have to take advantage of things and then just put it in your name🎉

Yes! It's a good idea to look for nice newer models to buy and flip, we'd really like that. Pls buy that 2024 Hyundai Elantra, you won't regret it.

I had a similar situation I had won a salvage title (not rebuilt) 275k mile 2002 dodge Ram 1500 and it also had some minor bed side damage and it was from a dealer trying to flip my winning bid was 350$ before fees and I personally value it at 1200 max and they wanted me to pay 2600$ before fees and I won the truck 6 times before i was done giving a shot at it winning it for less and less everytime I believe it still sits at Copart to this day 😂

I’m thinking the buyer on the Hyaundi took it back & turned it in for some reason. You were closer on the price than I was, $28K. I enjoy the KIA K5 & Hyaundi’s. Not discussing politics as I enjoy just the vehicles you bring to the channel.

The hard drive could also be a SATA. They're identical mechanically. Edit: Yes, the spoilers are glued on with double sided tape. But that is some serious stuff. Whoever ripped the spoiler off, really had to work for it.

As a former CU CEO repo's have never been great sellers. They always get the softest offers, even at Manheim. Dealer repossession is possible if the dealer floor plans their cars and don't pay the interest on the floor plan. A new car dealer would typically go thru the manufacturer finance company to have a floor plan for their new cars.
