I used weed whipper string for my cord. Never bothered to look up 400# mono cost. The heavier stuff is pretty stiff while thinner cord is pretty flexible.

Save your money on the crimps I've been using plastic coated clothesline 6 oz Bank sinkers and electrical tape for 6 years I just refresh the tape once a year
