S1E17 - Another tasty episode! ;) There's no better place to try the best local foods, drinks & sweets than visiting big outdoor market! So here we are at Thursday Night Market in Langkawi, Malaysia. This is by far the best place to get the feel for Malay culture, try some tasty Malaysian dishes and just have some good time! The prices are super cheap, a specially for a westerners. We highly recommend to try (our favorite) Murtabak, as well as dessert treats Dorayaki. Make sure to come here early so you don't miss some of the most popular foods and treats offered. We suggest to get here around 6pm so you get a chance to see this market both, in day light and at night. Have fun and enjoy your watering mouth! ;)

The garbage dump area or spot will probably picked up by that particular pasar malam site management. They charge each site / stall / hawker? - for a few ringgit per night maybe around rm10 -30 (depending the space which per square feet or per table). Some contracted worker who usually locals will be paid to clean up the whole place in the morning. :). It look messy and unorganized, but well.. it's organized mess. :D The best part of pasar malam is they are very cheap, varieties, and fresh. :D Welcome to malaysia anyway! Hope you enjoy being here :D

The reason why there are no tables provided is because at the market, local people only buy the food then they eat them at home. I think most of the asian markets work like that lol. I'm sorry that you had to eat them on the grass, bet that was uncomfortable. I think it's time for the market to provide tables and chairs.

The night market organisers employ a band of cleaners to clear all the rubbish after the last stall closes.

+#KassyPlusOne In some place ..you cannot throw thrash like that ..example K.Lumpur ..If enforcement DBKL watch people throw thrash like that..you can get compount & must pay penalty..After night market close..all trash gone ..cause have people go pay from goverment to clean & clear thrash in Night Market..I'm living in Malaysia but I never thrash like that..What ever I hope you enjoying with the food..The food price Langkawi night market I think more cheaper than Johor Bahru , Johor Night Market..

This is the right place for everyone to get the most amazing delicious foods with unbelievable cheap price ever. I would like to recommend to everyone to try murtabak, satay, ayam percik (chicken with delicious coconut sauce), foods fried in big frying pans (don't forget to ask for pickle chilli... so nice) and more foods to try hahahaha... The drinks also are nice too but fruit drinks are most recommended. About the garbage, don't worry about it, the Municiple Council workers will clean it all once the activities is over for that night. The business owner has had pay certain amount to the Council for the cleaning purpose. Enjoy the foods ok...... and Selamat Kembali ke Malaysia (Welcome Home to Malaysia).

“look at the packaging... how nice!“ yeah, single-use plastic! Awesome! Yay!
@KassyPlusOne
@KassyPlusOne 4 жыл бұрын
Although very convenient, plastic packaging contributes to the overflowing landfills. Air, water, and land pollution is a grand issue with no easy answers. Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin wants to construct incinerators with the waste-to-energy plan. What do you think of this and other environmental programs in Malaysia?

Omg u spend 3 hours at the night market? I cant even stay there for 30 mins, i might end up broke lol. And yeah, most of the night market in Msia dont really provide seatings because the local just buy the food and eat at home/ some other places. What a shame they dont provide dustbin there pfftt

That's not Pad Thai either. Pad Thai is from Thailand and the bean sprout is put separately, also Pad Thai will have some peanut with it. This is called Char Kuey Teow and its famous in Penang Malaysia, bean sprout is cooked tgt with the noodles without any peanut on it.
@KassyPlusOne
@KassyPlusOne 4 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right and thanks for the correction, Ong Yk 👍 10:02 this dish is Char Kuey Teow, since bean sprouts are cooked together with noodles, without peanuts. The noodles and seasonings are different too. Char Kway Teow is one of the national dishes in Malaysia, though you must admit there are strong similarities between it and Pad Thai.

#KassyPlusOne all the night markets (pasar malam), the entire place is cleaned up immediately after closing hours. They don't wait till morning. You won't find litter in the morning. The cleaning work is done by the Municipal workers (City Hall workers).
