This is cheap overhead storage cupboards for any DIY camper van. This budget van conversion is coming together with the new addition of budget overhead storage .
Ebay for the overhead storage clips and cabinate hinges. B and q for the board. This board was cheaper and lighter then ply wood.

Hey man, a fan here! Converting a camper alongside your process too and taking in all your useful tips :) I've got very little experience in DIY but I've had those door latches before and I can tell you that with little weight from something leaning from the inside they could open quite easily and if you are driving it could make a little mess. Good vibes from London! Edit: If the hinges you've got are for heavy loads they could do most of the closing effort and then the latches would not be a problem... what do I know eh? 😅

Hey Richie, making smooth progress and of course it's gonna take a while as you have work life and family life too. We are all good here waiting patiently on your progress plus enjoying every minute of it ☺️ You had the exact idea I was thinking for the end of the cupboard, some extra usb or maybe a side light or mood light for the bed area. But didn't you mention a wardrobe there before 🤔 but then that would take up space? I dunno haha but loving the content peace ✌️

It's probably to late but boards are 1220mms x 2440mm, so you may have to do a bit of sawing

Don't know if you get humidity in the U.K. like we do in eastern United States, but using Oriented Strand Board (OSB) in a van build invites big problems. No matter how much the lumber companies tell you that their OSB is just as resistant to moisture as plywood they are deceived or lying to you. I found that out the hard way. OSB will expand much more than plywood in humidity, and wet conditions, and 'will' retain moisture causing mold and mildew problems. It will also weigh more as the moisture adds weight. Not even mentioning how bad any laminating problems you will have after the OSB expands. As you already found out, OSB sucks in the paint. Way more than plywood. Doesn't look as nice either. OSB is cheaper, but will it be in the long run??

Personally I wouldn't add overhead storage as it would take away head room, more likely to hit your head on it when groggily getting up from bed and as I age it will become harder to reach.

This isn't a newly built wall. It's recycled old ply line from the van. We have a plan for that ;)

Can I ask why you used osb? Was it because of price? Personally I would have used mdf. You’d have a flat surface & one sealed it’ll be waterproof.
