Thanks for the quick and EZ way to make a pond waterfall filter. My wife's waterfall water has turned green. And, thank God I found your video on making a pond waterfall into a filter. Took two days to drive around to stores to get the materials. I'm about ready to put the materials into the same waterfall you have on your video. I was in California from 9/11/2020 to 9/21/2020........if I would have known you live around Sacramento, I would have brought some beer and see your pond, With the stupid fires and the smoke in the air everything was closed down.....like Muir Woods. And, most bars you had to buy something to eat in order to have a beer outside in their patio. So, I had nothing to do but shop around for gifts and drive around looking at California. Thank's for your help for cleaning up pond water. I'll be flying into SFO (California) 9/11/2021..............I take a jet to SFO every 9/11 to remember 9/11/2001. Vince 2020sanfrancisco@gmail.com

To my Ha Y N friend: From your Ohio friend. Great tip about the need for shade and a simple way to do it. I have a similar fence along the back of my ponds. No tree, but could hook it to the back of the house. We have very strong winds, storms and even tornadoes 🌪 (more warnings than actual twisters - at least right here). But, strong winds nonetheless. I’m not really as concerned about wind as I am about providing shade and this is a great way to do it. Thanks.

I use almost the exact same things as you - down to the tape measure, lol. I've done these many times, many ways, (merry christmas, lol) -- I live in place that gets EXTREMELY WINDY, -- I have NO TREES, -- A CHAIN LINK FENCE. -- I'm a RENTER. 1. The buckle thing you got? I got too, never used. Unnecessary because the u-clip does all the pulling. 2. U-clips are THE BOMB. Without the buckle thing, just attach to a harbinger clip, loop thru uclip, pull pull pull, THEN KNOT THAT SUCKER. The bolts alone never hold for me (wind) but a knot by the uclip holds. Yes, they are losing lasting even in wind, but i angle mine with the west winds, so i anchor low west, then slope up east to higher anchor point, ** sometimes i make the last anchor at a different height or length. There's a lot you can do do with these; and even more fun offsetting 2+ shadesails for more interest. Nice vid!

@MsNene9164 жыл бұрын
@@HaYNFishKeeper hello. Unsure. It was an open area and built up. It is like a d shape.....but there is a tree stump in the middle of it.... What I measured was 15 x 10.5 inches...without the curve....and about 3.5 inches deep.
@HaYNFishKeeper4 жыл бұрын
R Manuel u can always use a pop up tent those work really well... if you have koi or Goldfish they prefer colder water and if the water gets to warm they could possibly die, but I’m not sure where u live and how the temperature is during the seasons... is the pond exposed to sun all day? If so I would get something to give it some shade, also if there’s a lot of sunlight hitting ur pond it will get a ton of algae too 🤙🏽🤙🏽

I'm not a Carpenter or engineer but, I would cement posts in the ground in front of the fence. With a very slight angle backwards. I have a bad feeling during a storm your fence is at risk of breaking. I put up a shade sale over my patio because of lack of shade there. (None)!) Mine has 4 corners. I have 2 attached to my house. Then I cemented two 4x4s right off the patio. But the cool part is , I used 2 trailer hand wenchs attached to my 4x4s. So as the sail stretchs I give it a turn to tighten it. ( turn buckles are a drag)And if there is a storm or at the end of the summer I can easily reverse crank it to loosen it. So I can take it down without all the effort it took to put it up. I hope I helped you as much as you helped me with the pond pvc- pipe- net -cover.lol
@HaYNFishKeeper5 жыл бұрын
+Ralph C lolol oh yeah I totally get it the 4x4 is the way to go but my sail shade is strictly for the summer only I’ll take it down for the winter season for sure that’s why I used those carabiner clips so I can just I clip them easy and take the sail shad down, so u keep urs up all year round?
@truebuldog5 жыл бұрын
@@HaYNFishKeeper I am on my second year with my shade sail. I take mine down in the late fall too. The ratchets makes it much easier and faster to do so. And keeps it tighter all summer as it stretches out and sags from rain and wind. If a summer storm is coming I can take mine down in a minute. And have it back up just as fast. Turn buckles suck! Lol You would probably only need one boat wench tied or bolted to the tree. If you do it you will thank me later.lol

Bro considering this is a cheap diy. You know there are many types of self-tightening knots you can do so you don't have to waste money on those bolt retainers. A truckers hitch comes to mind with a cloveline hitch to secure it and that rope ain't ever going lose. A truckers hitch allows you to adjust how tight the line is by pulley mechanism, a very good knot everyone should learn.
