GREAT FUN TIM ! yes 10/11/12 meter has been open real nice lately. I am getting out very well on them bands. I am using about a 5/8 wave on ground mount vertical and talking from NY to many DX stations ! Got Norway the outher day. New Zealand the next day. And on a 60 watt radio set about 40 watt PEP. The QT 60 on a 20 AH LiFePO4 battery. Antenna is 25 Ft vertical with fold back. Using a 4:1 UNUN and twist at top to tune, I used nano VNA to tune. I went for 50 Ohm using a 4:1 UNUN and bunch of 17FT ground radials . Using a DX commander 10 meter pole to hold it up. I tune for 1 band. 10-11-12 . get a nice SWR dip . Like 1.1 SWR at 28.074 ! . the whole band under 1.7 SWR. No ATU used ! . The 11 meter CB guys can't be leave my antenna ! Works better on RX than the 1/2 wave and 49:1 UNUN . TX is same. I tested both antenna. on same mast . 4:1 UNUN runs cooler with same power than 49:1 UNUN. tested 400 watt FT8 with thermal camera . Love the choke on the roof. I run same choke after my UNUN as well. 73

Yep a 1/4 wave resonant antenna on 10m mobile is definitely the way to go when conditions are good. Works well for 11m as well - just sayin 🙂. 73 M7BLC

Have you tried adding a base loading coil to extend the frequency range to 12m, 15m, 17m or 20m.
