Amazingly long-lasting! The silicone caulk suggested by Crafty Mum is a perfect solution around the sink. What a great way to buy time to save up for your dream countertop! Love your craft videos, but find your home DIY solutions very useful for getting maximum updates for minimum budgets.

Yes !!! We redid it 10-15 years ago And it’s Italian looking So dark Granite And solid wood Waste of money. Wish my cabinets were shallower. !! Galley style kitchen Any ideas on how to make them less deep ???

Hi So you can use a primer and then paint and then a polyurethane over the paint and that's it. This process can hold up under time

Love how yours turned out... I redid my whole kitchen and the cost of new counters was way out of my budget so I watched a billion videos on painting them... I was nervous to do it... But OMG they turned out amazing! I wanted the Granite look... so I did the sponge dabbing method... I used the same primer as you and 4 different acrylic paints and of course the polyurethane... I think I went 3 coats on the poly.. just to make sure they were good and I agree to work in small sections... that's what I had done as well... It's been 1 1/2yrs. for me and they've held up beautifully! The one thing I NEVER DO is put anything hot directly on my counters - I had to train my brain to do that - LOL But now that it's a habit I haven't had any dings or chips or anything... I also redid the Bathroom sink counter and it's stunning as well... I would recommend it to anyone trying to update a kitchen or bathroom on a budget... I took my time and everything looks fantastic.... even when guests visit they are stunned by my one of a kind granite counters... No regrets! :)

We gave in when we updated our kitchen several years ago and installed granite. Still loving them. We switched to all stainless appliances which next time I may not do. Depends on what's available at time time. 😊 Glad yours are holding up so well.

@@TheDailyDIYer we love them. We actually got to go to the manufacturer and select the whole slab of granite that we wanted to match our kitchen. That was much nicer than selecting from a tiny sample piece.

Always remember silicone is your friend and it hides a multiple of sons and finishes everything off to a 10* finish ! Specially flooring xx

What products do you clean them with? How do they hold up to heat? I did mine a few months ago but used poly acrylic to seal them. Around my sink is already chipping, I have a stain beside my sink. I plan to resand them and start the process over and hope for a better result for mine. I love the look and like you said, so inexpensive! I did use bullseye primer, but obviously I did something wrong along the way for them to already be chipping. Will definitely watch your video on your process. Thank you for sharing!

I use Mrs Meyers to clean. I’d give your counters at least 3 days after sealing to let them cure before you get them wet. Hope that helps a little!!

Hello, I did retique it and followed their instructions … it was a disaster, bc it said no need for primer or finish seal. But now we have a layer of their liquid wood with their stain and I was hoping you could tell me if it will work if I do what you did and it would fuse and bond or if all that retique it would have to be removed? Any kind of smell good oils is what caused mine to melt the top coat not sure why but that maybe what did yours too

Oh if you only saw MY countertops and back splash! Lol. It’s a gem. I need a whole small kitchen remodel. I don’t think cosmetic changes like that are going to help me. Plus I don’t have your patience. Or skill. It took me 3 months to redo the pantry and it’s all wrong! 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm shocked that it was under $40!! A gallon of paint cost that much, were you able to purchase in quarts? It doesn't look like you skimped on the paint quality.
