In this video I show you the steps involved to fix or repair a broken windshield washer hose.
The vehicle I am working on is a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport but this process will be identical on most Domestic and Imported vehicles.
For this task all you will need is:
1. Heat shrink tubing
2. A lighter (preferably a BBQ lighter with long reach)
3. Patience
To start, locate the hole or cut in the hose. Next, simply undo the hose and slide the heat shrink tubing until covers the area. last, apply heat to shrink the heatshrink in place. reconnect the hose and test the repair!
If you have any questions feel free to leave it in the comments below. I'd be glad to help if possible.

Thanks for this video! I tried to fix a break in mine using a piece of a straw and duct tape 😮 it worked until I closed the hood, lol. But now that I know what to get and how to repair it, I think I'll be good. 😊

It basically goes on your fender..I would remove the wheel well lining Make sure the tubing is strapped on right so it doesn't bang around I'm dealing with mine right now oh my Mazda six it is the same thing..I just use drip system hose and attachments Dirt cheap you can find them at any Lowe's or Home Depot

Great suggestion! Unfortunately most cars are not that easy to get too without a lot of effort. Just wanted to show a quick easy way to get back up and running. Its June 2022 and the fix is still holding with no leaks. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

On my 2009 focus, other vids have shown a long, drawn out process to access the reservoir. That might or might not be true. My line is split after it gets up near the first nozzle, so I plan to leave some of the line in place.

My hose is serrated/ribbed and the new hose will be 1/4 in irrigation tubing. That one in this vid looks smooth. I hope the shrink tubing can cover up/seal the older non-smooth tubing. We'll see tomorrow.

Our 2013 Subaru Legacy’s windshield washer hose from the rear of the front fender to the sprayer has been totally eaten by a roden. How can that hose be replaced when I can’t see it?
@MoreBear
@MoreBear 3 жыл бұрын
You would either have to fish an new line in or pull all the trim covering the line and replace it. You could try tying a string to the end of the old line and pulling the old line out. The string could be used to pull a replacement line in the same spot. Thanks for the question and for viewing!

Yes, you can buy replacement line at most big box and automotive stores. However, the factor washer lines are typically fastened/secured in areas that are hard to reach without removing other parts and sometimes even fenders or other bodywork. This video shows a quick fix that will last as long as you need. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

PSA to any future viewer: avoid 10 minutes of yet another video full of crutch-term "uhh"s and "um"s and "so"s used to try and sound cool while nervously avoiding even a split-second of silence. His solution was a piece of heat-shrink tubing from a typical $7 kit found at WalMart or Harbor Freight, et cetera, placed over a nick in the line. You're welcome, carry on.

Sorry, I'm new to content creation. That is the Coles notes version of how to fix. However not everyone viewing is tech savvy like some of us and need some additional information. So for that reason, um, ah I will continue to make videos that are informative an helpful to the masses. Thanks for the question and for viewing!

Yes, it worked. 2013 Honda Fit. Probably chewed apart in a bad tight space by bottom of tank. Took 4 hands, super long pliers to hold it out. Slid a generous piece over it. Heated one end then the other. Tested and worked. So happy that I saw this video for the idea to save money. Thanks.
