9:44 You're right. Almost everything is. Because, for example, the train pulling in at 6:57, is actually an Italian train that is used, here in Italy, on short regional services

Some trains in the USA also don't close their doors when they run! I ride on SEPTA frequently and they never close the outside doors on the oldest model they use. But like the train you showed, they have a vestibule which you are not allowed to enter while the train runs! Its a whole different story for the newer train models or the ones used in Europe that don't have vestibules.

Where do they have trains who don't close their doors? I would think the transit company would get into big trouble for it =P

Yes, almost everything is French on their railways. But at 9:38 there is a Belgian AM 80 Break EMU ! And Morocco inaugurated their very first high speed line something like a week ago. It's so French, that they use Alstom TGV Duplex trains and the French President Emmanuel Macron went to Morocco for the inauguration, with the King of Morocco.

Ben how do you figure out the lift speed? How do you 'feel' that it's 3.5 m/s for example? I think I couldn't figure out the differernce between a 3 m/s and 3.5 m/s lift. (I only just happen to know that Schindler uses 3.5 m/s as a standard speed, which would help me figure out a lift's speed but I could not tell the difference as descripted above)
@benolifts6 жыл бұрын
There are set speeds, but even without knowing them you can tell the speed. Consider how high a door is and how quickly the door passes by.

In the UK there have been instances of trains breaking down and being stuck for hours in hot weather with no aircon. Our silly health and safety laws have stopped the train doors from being opened even though the train wasn't moving.

Ben,if you ever come to Sydney Australia,here is a little tip,for the older trains, try and catch the BMT (Its part of T1) line service to Mt Victoria,that has most of our really old trains on it and also it’s an express service. It goes from Central, Strathfield, Redfern (can’t remember what order for Strathfield and Redfern), Parramatta, Blacktown, Penrith (my local station 😂),Emu Plains,then I don’t know what stations it goes to after Emu Plains
