Love the content! One thing I would like to see on one of those Kawi 15F motors is for someone to build a replacement Exhaust straight pipe section (for that final straight 1' long leg after the manifold. Those things are $300 and nearly impossible to find used for decent prices. They rot so badly at the end where the coupler connects. It shouldn't be that hard for someone with aluminum welding skills to create a sleeved aluminum pipe that necks down to the correct OD for the coupler...then tap in the water inlet...and maybe cut off the gasket end into a dissected slice...lay that template out and cut that template out of flat aluminum stock to weld to the double walled pipe. Then slap that pappy on with a stock gasket and whalaa....The $30 version of a $302 pipe. I mean...come on y'all, if anyone can do it it would be you guys ha! If not, I have to wait 20 months till I retire, then another year till I can finish classes to learn how to weld so how bout it?

When I comment from my phone or my other computer, it comes through as a different Joel Arseneault.... It's bad enough there is one of me.... but TWO ! Haha. Man, You made short work of that engine... and I totally didn't expect you to he able pick it up and walk away with it at the end ! I'm really excited for this build. Hey, you know what else I just thought of.... Compared to a two cycle... it's really easy to boost a 4 cycle, and with EFI it gets even easier.

Awesome!! I love it. I didn’t get notified about this video, and at a quarter to 5 am I was like “wait... today was Thursday and I didn’t see a Jacob video !?” I’m going to do a video to show the internet how to install multi cylinders the easy way. Even the easy way isn’t easy ... just easier. Thanks for the shoutout. That engine looks great ! Well done on the build. I know nothing about the electrical on these (specifically) so I hope you aren’t counting on me for help. 😂 Keep up the great work and awesome videos. I’m lovin it.

you can bypass the on/off switch on the harness. the switch just closes the connection to send power to the ECU (red and Black wire) The other two wires (White and red w/ white) just create a loop on the ground block. If you want to bypass this, you can connect the red and black wires together or just leave it in the ON state and tuck it away too. As for the other item you were asking about, I am not sure if the display is required to run. I know the display has a separate harness run that the engine part of the harness and it all connects back to the ECU.

Great video, I am doing my first jetski project in Abu Dhabi - Ultra 250x - the inside of the cylinders wasn't pretty when I opened it up, and the slow rebuild process has started. I am really hoping it is worth doing, as I have heard that these Ultra's are extremely unreliable...

hahaha using hose clamps for a ring compressor is so janky. but hey, if it works. saves you having to split the cases and undo the conrods as well so that's a bonus. nice work as always.

Do you know how I can tighten my crank bolt with out buying the rotor holder? I'm not confident using the rope in the cylinder trick, worried the piston assembly will bend.

there is a 50/50 chance you have the cam timing 180 out, because you didnt check that. iirc at tdc the timing chain is 1/2 link short of clearing the top of the head. 180 out and the whole link clears. then you count the links between the cam lines and its like 10 and a half or 13 and a half (i dont remember)
@Jacobskibros3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I understand what you are saying. Also some little details probably didn't get filmed. The cams I have are marked with intake or exhaust on each dot so they shouldn't be in backwards. I know some cams aren't labeled on the marks.
@ogdobber3 жыл бұрын
Put the motor at tdc and note the timing CHAIN location. Now spin the motor 1 turn to tdc once again and notice the timing chain location is 1/2 chain link different. (And the cams will be slightly advanced or retarded depending where you started) Spin the motor 1 turn again and we are back to “normal”. The 15f motor has a “frontside” and a “backside” , and timing the cams to the backside the thing won’t quite run right... like I said , there is a 50-50 chance you got it right

You should put the dasa and that fancy pump in B.O.B. Or would that involve chewing up the pump?

@@matthewhellman790 Yeah but do you think this bob would be good enough for the dasa? Also the pipe situation kinda crosses out that engine....unless I cut some big holes in the side of the ski.
