Thank you, I was looking for an actual review comparing different kinds of dehumidifiers. I kept getting what were basically ads for random humidifiers with no testing done. This was informative and helped me in deciding what product would work best for me. It is truly a great video. Thank you again!

Yeah thank you very much. Was thinking about getting small humidifier for my grow. But you prooved my big one I never used is way more efficient. That was super helpful

I'm coming across the same issue now. the reviews for individual models on youtube are really just ads. I cant trust any of them. By the way, did you end up finding one you like?
@BCreviews5 күн бұрын
@@MikeTango12Y For me the Pro Breeze wins, but I also kept the tiny dehumidifier for my shed/storage room where we empty out the tank once a month where the bigger machines would just overkill.

The less water is in the air, the less efficient they all become. This puts smaller ones at a disadvantage compared to what they would be able to extract if they worked alone, as in that scenario they would work at much higher humidity most of the time. At the same time, energy consumption doesn't depend on humidity (as long as the machine doesn't stop). So, running each individually would be more accurate in terms of absolute output and cost per gram.
@romandboiko8 ай бұрын
BTW, note that the energy from the dehumidifier doesn't just disappear. So, every penny spent on electricity will be used for heating the room (if that's what you want and price of energy is acceptable for heating, then you have no losses). That's due to the law of energy preservation. This is true for any home appliance that doesn't extract heat outside the apartment (ventilation would do that). So, the smaller dehumidifier just heats the apartment more. Of course, if heating with electricity is too expensive compared to other options, or if it's not needed, then it would be a loss.

The compressor makes a much colder surface on which the water condenses, allowing it to work effectively in much lower humidities. The small dehumidifiers will collect water at higher humidities (60%+), compared to the compressor dehumidifier, which will work down to lower humidities (
@BCreviews7 ай бұрын
@aaronhunyady true, all depends on how much moisture you need to remove and if it will remove them faster then it replaces

Observation: One observation is that larger compressor units tend to heat up the room more, and they also suffer from significant rusting and wear and tear. Additionally, the moist air within these units can lead to mold growth. I've had the opportunity to open these types of larger appliances and portable air conditioner units, and after a year, they are noticeably rusted and dirty. One would expect the use of stainless steel parts or components, but this is not the case. Or at the very least, they should facilitate safe and straightforward maintenance, which is not the situation. Maintenance is so difficult that one cannot even clean the fan's interior, which becomes clogged with dirt and slime. The condition of the interior can not determined by its exterior appearance, even though it may seem new from the outside.

Totally understand, most electronic items require regular maintenance and care. Kettle need descaling, PC need dusting, vacuum need filter washing even keyboard we type on need regular cleaning. Same thing to dehumidifier and air conditioning which need cleaning so water runs off the condenser fins and not trapped by dust and in contact with metal. Saying that I never seen rust on condenser fins tho, I am sure some company will use cheap metal to gain a bit of profit.

Compressor dehumidifiers above 200W - 10 L/24h is the only option for kitchens, basements, garages. Less powerful devices for kitchens just don't work because they'll not decrease humidity below 60% (the evaporation from kitchen-sink, while cooking, electric kettle e.t.c. is way higher than the performance of 1L / 24h devices). My experience. The cheapest ones below 90W - 0.7L / 24h is the option for living rooms and bed rooms.

Thank you for informative review i bought the pro breeze one and i would like to know is that 280 watts over the 10 or 12 hours it was running or is it 280 watts a minute or hour or what ? Thank you
@BCreviews5 күн бұрын
280W per hour , in 10 hours it would have used 2.8kw of electricity, but this is under experiment condition where I run the machine at max all 10 hours. If you use normal setting it would stop the compressor when desire moisture level is reach and kicks in when it is needed again etc. Towards the end of the video I calculated how much each of the machine would cost me in money terms with my rate of electricity cost etc.

Hi, thanks for the video! Do you think that three or four of these smaller 25W units would be enough to reduce humidity in a 9m² bedroom? How would multiple smaller units compare in performance to a single medium-sized unit?
@BCreviews24 күн бұрын
It depends on where the moisture is coming from and how fast. A normal bedroom with some ventilation should not need a dehumidifier unless there is damp issue from rain or water leak. I would go for a medium machine for long term use but only on it for when it is required.

Thanks for the video. Question. I've been seeing dehumidifiers for collecting water for drinking in conditions of emergency using a gas generator for power or solar GEN. Is this water safe to drink or do you have to Boil 1st.
@BCreviews2 ай бұрын
I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer for this as everyone environment is different. I don’t think I will die if I drink direct from the tank but I don’t know what metal is the evaporating fins where the water condenses made of. Also there is the matter of mould and bacteria in the tank. It should be pure water and I am sure it will be 1000s times safer than what people drink daily in 3rd world where they walk miles to collect muddy water, human is tough in that sense. Thanks for watching 🤗

thanks, will probably breeze makes the room cooler? or it has a heating coil as well to keep the room temperature same?
@ankitsaxena48265 ай бұрын
probably = PRO*
@BCreviews5 ай бұрын
Usually dehumidifier with a compressor has a heat side and cool side where the water condense where it net zero for heating/cooling. Dry air makes room feel cooler so the room will feels cooler with the air circulating as well.

Also had that issue, the 1 star reviews on walmart were enlightening. Excellent review, your cost breakdown based on power cost was unique and much more informative and convincing then any other video ive seen. Youre clear about your opinion, but in regard to this simple experiment, i didnt see any experimental bias. Keep up the good science!

When you come after 12 hours, the small meter shows humidity 48 but the big one only 41.. Is it that inaccurate or am I missing something?
@BCreviews3 ай бұрын
I think that is due to the air around the sensor of the big machine is sensing the dryer air from itself? Not too sure 🤔
