Did you use a metal sheet in the end and if so how did you fix it to the bearing? Really useful hack thanks!!

Phil Toker hi thanks for watching. no I stuck with the wood in the end mainly through laziness. I think counter sunk bolts would be the way and drill large holes in it to allow a screwdriver to tighten the other side if you know what I mean

I got my bearing today so will go with the wood option in the first instance and see how I get on. Thanks again for the vid and links....a great help for my limited space!

Hi I finally used metal on mine as the wood eventually broke. I found some 5mm stainless steel then drilled and tapped holes for some small M5 bolts. Works a treat again and is overall less height so easier to get on the side stand
