Cheap NATO Straps: Are CNS Bands Worth It?

I bought some CNS bands as a stop gap until I can get a really nice band for my vintage Zodiac. No complaints and feel on par with other lower end straps.

This is a good video. All the straps look good other than the bunched up red one that's supposed to be single pass. I don't even understand how you're supposed to wear that one if you can't even get the strap end into the buckle. That one would be going back if I got it.

Thanks so much! And yeah that strap was pretty bad. I spent sometime trying to figure out how it was supposed to work with no luck. A 0/10 from me. But the rest of the straps have been great 👌🏾

I love their straps and have been buying from CNS for many years now. They've improved a lot and offer a lot more than they used to. Their Nato-style straps break in pretty good, frankly. Their leather offerings are a little more hit 'n miss sometimes.

@WristUnwound they've been selling straps for a long while now. I have one of their "sailcloth" straps and I like it a lot, but it's nothing like an Artem strap that's for sure. I haven't tried their very new FKM rubber straps yet, they even have a Cut To Size version.

So far the two best FKM straps I've had come from Montreux and Strap Habit by far. I would like to try out Artem but just haven't bit the bullet yet. The other strap I want to try in the Octopod

I find CNS are so hit and miss. I’ve ordered from them a few times and sometimes they’re good value and other times the straps end up in the bin due to manufacturing defects. I want to like them but it’s not worth the risk of wasting money. Better just to buy a more premium and reliable brand.
