Cheap Noise-Canceling Headphones from Sennheiser | HD 450BT Review

Thanks for your clear explanation of the noise-canceling, I was afraid my phone had a problem. I have this phone and it is hard to see the difference, but in flights it works very well.

All the reviews fail to say that when on calls, the microphone lets you hear your own voice and your surroundings, which is pretty bad for shared home offices or loud enviroments of any kind. If you plan to use them on said places, make sure you have an external microphone to make it the default recording device on Windows thus avoiding the "pass through feature".

That's a good workaround! I kinda know about it but it somehow didn't make the script for this video so my bad on that. I'm assuming the use case here is for people to still be aware of their surroundings when taking phone calls while walking outside. Situational awareness essentially. Though I agree it's inconvenient.

There is an update in the app where you can adjust the sidetone.

these Sennheiser's HD 450BT's are 129 ( Canadian ) 95 ( USD ) for black friday....i just need a set of headphones for watching netflix and my ipad for movies and utube....the noise cancellation and calls are not important but good sound is ....would these be a good buy ?....cheers from Canada

Hmm, I think if for Netflix and KZbin, these should be fine. They're not the best sounding for the price range but I get the impression you want a wireless headphone am I right?

Don't agree with your assessment of noise cancellation. I used these headphones on a flight recently and was very pleased that the low rumble from the jet engines was pleasantly almost completely gone. Very pleased with that example of noise cancellation. I do not use these headphones in a coffee shop, noisy business area with high frequency sounds so make no judgement in those environments. My purpose for air travel with these headphones however is completely satisfactory.

This is the best comment I was looking for in the chat. I'm buying these for the purpose of air travel. Constant noise should be easy to filter out. I find it hard to believe noise cancelling can completely anticipate inconsistent dog barks or unexpected noises in inconsistent intervals. After all software with algorithms is supposed to compensate for what it can anticipate which is why constant noise is filtered out.

Does this reviewer know the history of Sennheiser? He does not seem to know the sound of these headphones. Maybe his hearing is shot.
